| Quote ="Starbug"Had conversations today with one fan who said that 14 quid was too much for a game against a team like the Skolars
Which is possibly true , but then a match against W1g4n [ even a friendly or a match against Widnes or Fax maybe should be worth more
'"
Here's the problem (which I know Starbug is well aware of). At 1375 attendance paying £14 (I'm ignoring concessions, as the point still holds...) then the revenue in should be £19,250.
If, say, we dropped the price to a tenner, we'd need to add 550 on the gate just to bring in the same amount. As I understand it, we don't make any money from 'secondary spend' (i.e. food and drink, or carparking), so there's a difficult decision to make in terms of pricing.
The RL market is price sensitive... but to what degree?? I was coaching my Exeter side on Sunday (Exeter Uni 2 beat Oxford 2 by 48-16!) so I couldn't go, and I'd pay whatever it costs to see any opposition if I was travelling up... but how many people who went to Wigan but not Skolars, would have been there if it had been £4 cheaper????
Answers on a postcard to Mr A Thomas....

Heres a better one....750 Adult ST's 400 freebies to u11's, another 400 concessions/12+'s equals more than the gate declared, so did anyone buy a match ticket ???? In which case what have we to lose.

| I know lots who for one reason or other did not go yesterday but will be at the Haven game.
Why get concerned about a crowd for a match that means nothing in a competition that most do not like, if we only get less than 1500 when the league starts then you can worry.
The rugby played yesterday was excellent and so what a few passes went astray, you expect this when the lads tried to keep the ball alive, I'm sure they won't do the Harlem Globetrotters bit against better teams.
I enjoyed myself and been to Leigh games recently when the crowd has been 3 times bigger and hated the game, its whats in front of you that I'm concerned with not how many sit at the side of me.
Its a long haul and weekly analysis in detail of whats negative and positive are tedious , I for one think this messageboard is getting like a soap opera, the same old tripe week in week out.

| We’ve 4 season ticket holders in our party but only me went yesterday, Son had a game himself which only finished at 1:45 pm, Daughter somehow gets dirtier watching her brother than the players do , and it was too cold for the under 11, but they’ll all attend the bigger/warmer games.

The que was massive and i didn't get in the ground until 15.15 missing 3 tries & i paid £16. So do prices go up the closer it gets to kick off?
If thats the casei f i get a ticket mid week will it be cheaper? Me thinks not!

| Quote ="leighonardo"The idiotic response of a fool..............May I be so kind to point out that the LSV attendances are in actual fact everything to our future !!
Does anyone know if the free u11's ST's are included in the figure posted on sporting life? If so I would say it's rather worrying.
As it happens a regular member of our group made the decision that todays game did not warrant £14 especially in todays non P&R environment and stayed away, he did meet up with us all later on and the scoreline did actually support his judgement.
As Matt stated 1,300 is purely and simply not sustainable. A huge concern I am sure.'"
sorry i need to voice my concerns regarding attendance.
i think the haven game will be a yardstick, we have had some great encounters with them in recent times and if we cant manage 3000 then i too fear for our future.
remember we cant even sell 1000 season tickets.
the debate, actions and solutions need to start soon.
i share leighonardos concerns

It's £16 to sit in the West, £14 to stand with the ruffians in the North, I believe.
I think the NRC is definitely better off for the re-organised group stages, but I think the damage might have already been done with dead rubber games of previous years.
The more crowds we get at this stage of the season below the break even figure, the tighter the margins will become - 1,000+ down today will mean having to attract 1,000+ more people to another game, just to even out.

No one is doubting the concerns but being bothered about a 'nothing' games atendance AFTER the event has happened is like being bothered about last weeks snow, very nice but pointless as theres nothing that can be done about it now, the trouble with a lot on here is that they are bothered about yesterday and not about tomorrow, learn digest and move forward, whats gone has gone, too many 'shudders' and not enough 'movers', (not (unfortunately) that anyone on here can influence things at all).
As for season ticket sales I'm sorry but historically Leigh people have never bought them in great quantity, even sales after 81/82 were less than 1000 (as relayed to me by a board member at that time).
Unfortunately The NR cup has never captured the attention of the RL public many just seeing it as an exended pre-season, an attitude that I for one don't share as for one winning it gets you 'in the pot' for promotion at the next licence farce (you can have 4K at every game but winning 'nowt' gets you 'nowt').

| we have had nothing games before but still had a lot more than 1375.
perhaps i am disappointed because i thought the new stadium would bring back a lot of lost fans.
early doors i know but the initial signs are not encouraging.
still say we got season ticket policy wrong, the offer was simply not attractive , we have not sold the team and stadium in any shape or form.
that is the job of the club not the fans.
i am a supporter and that is what i do. i buy my season ticket, my shirt , my half time draws and my lifeline.
what do people think we would have sold(season tickets) if we had dropped them to £100.

Are you sure about that, I thought it was the GF appearances that counted and not the Northern Rail cup final appearances

You're right, it's a win in the Northern Rail Cup or an appearance in the Grand Final that counts towards the licence application.

Well I think 3000 for an NRC game which is hardly a must win situation is sadly optomistic bearing in mind the number of Haven fans likely to travel.
Yesterday was never going to get the less committed to go. When we reach the knock out stages and the league games will be a better indication of our potential regarding attendances.
I,d go if it was £20 a game but I know not everyone would and quite frankly I thought season tickets were very reasonably priced given the facilities we now have. But I also know that some fans think it preferable to pay on a game basis. Up to them of course.
Yesterday our team played rugby which entertained. Long may it continue and to be frank we haven,t had many matches were we have been entertained since Turk left. Its not just the opposition sometimes its about getting a reputation for being an enjoyable money well spent couple of hours.
And that I am optomistic about given our current set up. Just hope todays news from Widnes doesn,t upset the applecart.

| At 2pm yesterday I was sat at home looking out into the cold grey sky, wondering whether to bother or not (and I have a season ticket).
So I can understand those who only go to half the games no turning up and paying £14 to see a team who would struggle to give Easts a game.
Thankfully I went and really enjoyed it.

Personally, I dont think a tenner a game (or whatever it works out at) is bad value.
Make it £100 and its a nigh on 30% cut; would we get 30% more folk in who wouldnt be going anyway? I dont think we would to be honest.

Well I left two pieces of 'anatomy' on the gantry yesterday, like I say its the best view but 'gawd it were cowd' so can fully understand that statement if I hadn't had to go I may have thought twice, especially seating at least if your standing you can 'jiggle abawt a bit' to get warm(ish).

| Yes, 1,375 is disappointing, yet with the exception of Widnes v Oldham, it was the best in the round. So, it's a worry for all Championship teams - except Gateshead, who are apparently raving at their 1,200 'bumper gate' - and if that's all they can achieve, by giving tickets away, then how the heck can they keep signing NRL quality players?! I would suggest that supporters at all Championship clubs are not taken with the format of the NR Cup - I'm certainly not. OK, so they've changed the 'group' format, but it still seems such a contrived way of deciding on who qualifies for a knock-out cup. We now have the RFL saying who should get their postponed games played by this mid-week, and who doesn't need to (Swinton, for example!! and London Skolars, who can play their postponed game two weeks after the group stage finishes!)
I would much rather watch 'league' games and, if that means increasing the number of teams in the Championship, or increasing the number of games against each team, so be it!
