The Lucy's of this world are just offering a point of view one one initiative
There are many reasons why Lucy hasn't been to all the available games so far.
Most of the reasons are well beyond the reach of any initiative from LRLFC.
But to tell Lucy that away fans are getting in cheaper than her and their kids are getting in free did her off a bit!
However Lucy is one who will get to games she can get to, and she will buy that Salford bloke a pint because of his kind offer! And she will also pay for her own ticket and her kids tickets!
I really do not want to get in to games for free, I never have and I never will!
I just think it's a bit off of you haven't got a season ticket you don't matter any more.

That can't be the case, Lucy. We only have 400-odd season ticket holders, so everyone has to matter.

| We will no doubt be trying various ideas this season on marketing the club, but our loyal fans need to be considered, they're the ones that have gone the extra mile and we don't want to upset them.
There's some of us LISA, Lottery,Touchdown members and some all three.
We've dug dip in the clubs hour of need, we're paying more this season to watch Leigh, we understand why we have to,so why not reward us with some free tickets to give away to people of our choice, I certainly wouldn't give them to people who already come and most of us wouldn't.
Its worth a go surely.

Lynda i think to many people have the idea of everything will be OK ,let somebody else do it , but its not the answer , we need more Fans or others who are ready to do something , not just come up with ideas , ideas are OK , but its action we need , Fans should start thinking what they can do , then we might raise more cash .

More than likely very true Mo ,most on this Forum are already the Converted , im tired of people asking me "What is happening at Leigh ", i always reply , get down to the LSV , and find out , i must admit ,im concerned about falling attendances .

| the pre-season poll on what day to play showed an overwhelming victory to play on sundays did it not ,the crowds are lower because of the insane decision to play on Thursday,Friday ,in fact as the old song says Never on a sunday, also I know of regular fans who are alienated by the fact that other teams fans are enjoying the match much cheaper than Leythers , last seasons initiative on freebies ended up as Maurice says in the hands of those who were coming anyway ,or those who never came again.

I did and do it every week , Im a LISA member, Lottery member, I play poker for LISA very Tues have goes on the forcast comp every week, run the coaches to away games , raising money, run a raffle on the away coaches, I can only do so much...........
However if |I was given some tickets to try and get more fans through the turnstyles ie kids etc I would try my best to achieve this.
This IMHO would have more long term benefits to giving cheap admission to a team fans that attend once a season.
We need to grow more fans, fans that will keep coming.
We have a great tool in our AWARDING WINNING EX COMMUNITY DEPT OF THE YEAR 2010, that specailises(sp) in getting into schools and dealing with kids of all ages, when our Beth was at Primary School she attended the LSV classroom we used to have and all the kids form that school were really impressed and some still attend games.

Things like free family tickets in a family stand (East) with no beer on sale, only families allowed in with the ticket, MAKE IT A GREAT DAY, stuff going on, get them in early for a fun day, next match invite them back next game cheap ticket and then again cheap ticket, till you have them hooked, keep the family stand, build up the family stand and eventually we will see the benefits, as there is no quick fix.

| We are still in a recession, people forget this.
Theres too many other things people will stay at home or go to pub to watch no matter what day we play on.
WE need to encourage the TOWN TO SUPPORT OUR TEAM. ROME wasnt built in a day, we have to build from the bottom up, look at new idea and not copy ones from other clubs that own their own ground.

Lynda iknow all the work youput in ,if we had a few more like you maybe about 10 , we wouldnt be in such a state , thats what im saying its the same people all the time being left to do something .
Again i think a using the East Stand as a family stand might work , worth a try , what gets to me is the Armchair fans who think they are Leigh fans because they read about the club in the Journal , as ive said most of us know who the true Fans are we see them every week id do anything to help the club , we need Press Gangs roaming Leigh .
Im very concerned though as we have been told 1800 is the break even figure , so we are losing cash at the moment , not good .

| yes Charlie, Peawapp attends every home game on whatever day it is played ,I prefer sunday ,also most of the away games as well. when I got my season ticket as soon as they came out ,I thought that the day would be sunday, it don't matter to me any day I can attend ,(Holidays and mrs Peawapp permitting ) but my son-in-law ,and at least twelve more people I know have not purchased tickets because of the playing day.

Good on yer then i myself attend every game home and away , but i prefer Sunday games , Charlie Jnr was g.oing to subscribe to become a Silver Touchdown member , but changed his mind when looking at the Fixture days .
I feel the Directors are exploring every possible avenue to increase the Fan base , it will never be suitable for everybody , but you cant blame them for trying , i think if they get no joy with Fridays then they will revert to Sundays , one thing about Trevor Barton , he WILL listen to Fans oppinions and ideas.

| Its not hearing that matters, its listening and evaluating, then its what actions follow. The club asked what day, the answer was Sunday, they told fans Sunday and then changed it. The club 'promised' LISA that they would get a share for the first £20k DJ says they have already tipped that in - where's the share and transparency it brings.
Running a private business is not about having endless committees talking all the time, thats local government, Charities and public services. Its about leadership, actions and results - whilst communicating honestly and frequently with your stakeholders.
The club decided to not bother with ST's and looked to spread income via TC and matchday sales. How many TC's have we sold? The strategy was less fans more income - a brave gamble which is so far failing, thats why some fans are somewhat concerned at present - WE DO NOT WANT ANYMORE MID SEASON SHOCKS.
Oh and I haven't missed a home game as well, because however badly we seem to be doing some things our money is needed more than ever.

You actually answer your own question in your post - season ticket sales and Touchdown memberships dried up with the publication of the fixtures whereby the fans wanted Sundays and the rest is history.
The club obviously wants to sell as many season tickets as possible and surely there can be nobody criticising the Touchdown concept and what it is there to do. That said Fridays have hit this and other than Fetch Bob which is hardly high brow but pointed at least at the right target market, all that has come forward is the insane idea of looking after away fans and season ticket holders of everybody else.
People are right to be worried, our next home game is Friday 30th and happens to clash with Wire v Saints live on Sky - unless our marketing is geared to get the Leigh public to come and watch our team, the Friday games and this latest plan are likely to kill us. Somebody needs to be brave enough to pull this and maybe revisit game days before we end up back in the mire.

The club looked into the use of the East stand for the junior centurions, but it would have to be fully stewarded, and there is a significant cost attached to that one. If we let people into it free, then we will lose money on it.

I believe the ball is now in LISA's court - aren't they discussing the board offer at their next meeting? (I know, yet more talking, but the membership has to discuss it)
It's not easy to go ahead and put plans into action without someone discussing them in the first place, is it?
Do you see the Fans' Forums as a useful way of communicating with the fans?
There are two accountants looking closely at the financial results to date - to avoid those mid-season shocks.

Hardly inspiring news, the attendances tell us all that we are already losing money.
What we need is strategic know how and the ability to look forward - no sign of that to date.

| 2011 season average 2.5k??
2012 season average 1.7k??
Awful strategy put in place which is the fundamental reason for the above figures.
I'd expect a similar drop in corporate income to..
All very concerning !

If anything I believe the club is almost being too transparent and the time must be getting nearer whereby some pretty tough decisions need making.
That said we are lacking strategic direction which needs addressing as of now. Only recently have we introduced a new director who is charged with the marketing function at the club - Fetch Bob being the 1st thing he introduced which we all support. To then alienate every Bob with a non Leyther driven plan suggests lack of thought and planning - I hope he wasn't also involved in this.
