Not at all, more importantly I am a Leigh rugby fan with no axe to grind unlike some on here. On some of these threads there are unbelievable comments made about both Paul and Allan that are disgraceful to be honest. Let me give you some facts :-

NOBODY more than Allan and Paul would of been more disappointed with yesterday’s performance, score line etc than they would have been. But what would you like them to do come on here and type that they agree with you?

Instead we get comments such as f off Paul and even someone complaining that our CEO was walking through the streets of Leigh in a Leigh Centurions jacket earlier in the week. Just read that last comment it’s absolutely unbelievable that someone could complain on here about it.

Everybody says Paul should go, yes results have been poor and some performances even worse, but did he sign those players? Can he change those players now? Would any other coach come in knowing Ian will be back in 5 games? Some of you will no doubt say we could have signed all those Oldham players that Barrow signed on Friday. Do you not think we would have tried too, but if a players is offered a 2 year deal or a 5 game deal knowing he won’t be at the 5 game deal club next year whats he going to do?

I have no doubt the capture of Ian will absolutely revolutionise our great club again but in the immediate term its had a negative effect; no players will sign unless they are offered long term deals knowing they are part of Ian’s plans, the players Ian obviously wants for 2010 aren’t available right now. Some of the present squad have given up as opposed to trying their hardest for a contract next year and be a part of the revolution.

The second point I want to clear up as many seem to think I stick up for Paul/Allan too much but again I will deal in facts. Ever since Paul came back in 2002 there have been constant nonsense written here about him falling out with coaches. Paul Terzis signed him and why if he had fallen out with Terzis would Rowley get offered the chance to go coaching with Paul in Australia 2 years later? The next coach to come in; show me a player who didn’t fall out with him????? Then came TB who when you look at the playing list at Leigh in 2006 it was a disaster that we didn’t go up. Then came Shawy who appointed Paul as his assistant. Then came Ned who agreed to like wise. Then if any of you think Paul took the job in March/April not knowing Leigh were to attempt for the 4th time to bring Basil back then I give up! That’s Paul’s history since he came back!!! Yes there might have been people he fell out with; do you get on with every one of your bosses and colleagues? But the garbage that’s written on here it’s a wonder he’s given over 10 years of loyal service to his home town club!

I hope that clears a few things up; yes if I had gone yesterday I would have been disappointed and we do have to improve over the next 7 weeks to stay up but as I have said many times we have 5 games left with 4 at home. If any of you think Steve McCormack wouldn’t trade places with us right now you are crazy! Gateshead went and conceded over 40 points to a team that we have beaten twice and lie 3rd in the league. It’s a funny old game but I don’t hear Thunder fans calling for Steve Mc’s head!

Whilst I fully understand everyone’s disappointment with yesterdays result some of the comments on a number of the threads are wrong and some who typed them should have a real reflection in the mirror this morning.

Keep the faith and support YOUR club!

No matter who the players are, a coach should be respected enough for the players to want to make an effort, and I would also, like a few others, like to know which player/players thought it was funny. Individual effort may have been there but as a team who concedes 12/13 tries in 80 minutes you cannot say there was team effort.

Ste, we are keeping the faith and supporting our club, we have all season but when we travel miles and miles for a 6.30 kick off on a Saturday and get well beaten not just outclassed but for us to show no heart or desire at any point in the game was demoralising for the fans and some of us just can't afford to keep the faith or keep supporting our club because it costs too much.

Dare I say, the fans wouldn't have been bothered getting beat if we have shown some effort and team togetherness. The players seemed to be questioning each other 15 minutes into the game. It isn't good enough. Somewhere along the line something isn't right, some of these current crop of players aren't showing any fight to the cause and are taking our great club for a ride. They are showing no respect for the coachs they are letting themselves down and letting the fans down and showing our club up to be a laughing stock on yesterdays performance.

In Super League we were well out of our depth and we expected to get hammered by these kind of score lines against the Leeds and Saints of this word, and we did. However, in this league where, on paper we aren't a bad side, we proved that last week by beating a form side, we've completed the double over them and Widnes while we should have beaten Barrow at home earlier this season there is no excuse what-so-ever for yesterday.

Any Leigh fans that went to the game yesterday should be given a full refund by the club.

well i for one do not want my cash back, i just want complete and otal effort from my team, do these players realise how fortunate they are, to play the gretets sport n earth, and get paid for it, ok not as much as some, but even so get paid, and also play for a once proud club, i do not think tipster ste its any of us fans who should look in the mirror pal, its that shower who pulled on the jersey and showed so little respect for it or any pride in ity.

Well I definately had when I heard 2 Australian accents in a pub I went in on the way back to my hotel. One was a Barrow player who scored 2 tries and the other one was Armistead.

To be fair Armistead was just as down about the game as I was but he does know how we fans feel and he was sober which isn,t bad for about 12-30am.

I also bumped into Nicky Stanton,s mam earlier she said to me if I knew why he never gets a pass

. I told her why and she was astonished because she said thankyou I thought I was paranoid.

Her partner said something about her lad and a Non relegation team for next season but as I don,t do gossip you,ll have to buy me a pint before I tell you.

Fully agree pal but what I dont agree with is the pure hatred spilled by SOME who clearly hold personal grudges.

Paul must have known Ian was coming as Ian himself said that AT had been after him for ages.If the players dont like Paul why play out of their skins last week for him ,i just dont understand whats going on at all but you cant put all the blame at PRs doorstep for yesterdays game ,Leigh can play better than that, last week proved it so,unless he told them all to go out on the field and embarress themselves and play like a team of donkeys then the lads should take most of the flak.

Personal comments re Paul are well out of order, although if us fans that spent our money and a lot s of time travelling down to Barrow cant comment on how 5hit we were then its why bother.
People who didnt go yesterday cant possibly defend it, beleive me it was appalling and that is not strong enough, =Icant think of any words to discribe what we was served up yesterday.
I for one had had an 18th party for my son the nite before, got to bed at 5.30 and feeling rather rough went all the way to Barrow on a coach which left at 2 o clock and got there at 5. I was shattered and embrassed, especially when the young Barrow fans started to take the pi55 out of us at the end. It was embrassing to be a Leigh fan yesterday, however Ill be there next week and hope things can change.I know the players themselves most be hurting too, but what ever is wrong needs addressing and lets put up a fight.
I didnt expect us to win yesterday , if we, d have lost and put up a fight I wouldnt mind.

It seems that there is a lot of sense in the last comment.

First, as many have said, who would replace Paul at this point?

Second, why are we such a Jekyll and Hyde team?

We do need to get behind the club, coaches and team at this point but this is actually going to do little to help.

The board (AT) need to enquire very closely into the disaster that was the Barrow game and take action. I think this may have to be bringing in extra staff either players or someone experienced to support Paul if Neil Kelly isn't performing that role adequately.

In my many years watching the team this is a repeating scenario. The usual answer was to bring back AJM!

Perhaps. That doesn't make them any good though does it? I'm gutted by our performance all season, but it doesn't mean I can coach the side. If they're that upset by it, then they should be willing to step aside and let someone else have a crack at saving us.
I was one of Pauls biggest fans as a player, he could do no wrong. As a coach though, I wouldn't do the proverbial if he was on fire.

Perhaps if Paul wasn't so far up his own backside he would have consulted with IM as to who might be a good buy, and gone hunting for them instead? I'm sure that most players would leap at a three year contract under IM, even if offered it by PR. It looks like a lot of those players may actually realise that they can pull the wool over PRs eyes, but there is less chance with Milward.




I wonder how much PR would have learned if he'd gone of with Terzis? History shows that he's learned sod all in charge at Leigh FFS. Yes, he was offered the chance... but he didn't take it, and we're suffering for that.
One has to wonder how much truth there is in the stories that at least one of our post PT coaches was told that PR came as a part of the package - take it or leave it.





I have faith in the club. Its the coach and his dad I'm struggling with.
