Can't for the life of me understand why we never use Smith in the hooking role. It is his natural position, a position he is comfortable with and a position he has played a World Club Challenge and numerous SL games at. We need variety at no 9 which Smith will provide. I know we have used Durbin there also but Smith is a more alround hooker. Sounds familiar to the Donlan situation!

I'll be happy if someone supports the runner and maybe get a few yards further than the initial tackle and then maybe complete some sets and maybe and its a big maybe score more points than the other team but maybe thats too much to ask and too many maybes

Higson's cast is coming off on Thursday. So hopefully he could be back from Haven away, but wouldn't want to rush him back though.

Agree completely. Donlan didn't offer any more on Sunday in his so-called best position than Morty would have. Come to think of it he hasn't done much further out wide either, where his SL clubs used to pick him more often than not ("out of position" apparently - maybe somebody should have told them). And as a captain he's been completely anonymous.

Has Jock ever played at loose before? When Smith plays there he doesn't offer us any passing options and decides to run the ball in much more rather than linking play.

didnt he play at full back on Sunday? Cant remember him hardly touching the ball... or getting involved. Donlan is pasdt his best & as some others have said on here, SL clubs played him on the wing.

Fair dos - he was kept pretty busy, trying to guess which of half a dozen attacking players to tackle, on each set!

Have to say Mort for me at full back keep saying this, dont think Donlan played much at full back when in SL always saw him on the wing at Cas when on tv plus dont think Mort is suited to the wing he likes to be in the thick of it looking for the ball ,you only have to see his points tally to see where he is best suited.

He's actually filled in at dummy half on a few occasions already this season, and played there on a semi-regular basis when at Wigan IIRC. Although I wouldn't pick him ahead of Jock (should the real Jock reappear at some point in the near future), it's certainly an option.

when he recieves a ball deep in our own half, 1st tacklers gets him. 9 times out of 10. In a decent Leigh side, he wouldn't even have made the bench. Donlan's only potition is full back.

The Mort/Donlan debate will go on and on, everyone has a different opinion on it.

Mort's only position is full back whereas Donlan is proven in Super League on the wing and in the centre. Mort also has been had a better return on points when playing at full back.

Stanton has never played hooker before. I asked him in Toulouse has he ever player there and he said never. Lets just keep him on the wing.

Not up to speed with injuries but quessing there is no Alstead/Higson and still no Williams then I would try the above. If Rudd was unavailable I would play Armistead at centre and play Hatton and Ainscough from the bench or play Reay at centre, leave Armistead on the bench and chose from Ainscough or Hatton

I would like to see Hatton after his stint with Blackpool.

armistead is wasted at centre mate hes too slow hes better round the middle running at the forwardes looking for the offload which hes great at
