Yes, we probably have missed opportunities and that's galling. If only we had the people to evaluate all the ideas, pick the good ones and make them all work. It's frustrating being involved and seeing opportunities go by. It must be even more frustrating being able to stand back, on the sidelines, so to speak, and see it happening.

Agree that some seem to rejoice more in failure than success, however i'm not that way inclined and only want the club to thrive. Equally I welcome new ideas being put out there provided they are directed at the right target market without in any way conflicting with the existing customer base and can be seen to generate additional revenues into the club.

Unless we call time on this brain dead initiative we are going to cost ourselves thousands on the year - the forums have made it clear that a neutral position is a crowd of 1,800 which must factor in people paying at pre initiative prices. This must increase that number and furthermore alienates your walk up Leigh fan in having to pay significantly more than away supporters.

I really don't care whose idea this was, if the decision makers still believe this can work however, then god help us. It won't stop me attending but fear there is a significant number who it will.

It must be terribly frustrating for folk who offered but were ignored, I know at least two fans with skill sets I believe are beyond those currently being used who fall into that category. I know one of them detailed an affordable concept to drive brand and income, whilst developing a real community feel again.
It's fantastic that the club have such a wealth of talent to hand that such proven people are surplus to requirements.

Not everyone will agree with everything all of the time, but everyone claiming to have the clubs interests at heart should be prepared to back it through the gate at least.

wake up seriously!! last night our crowd was down by nearly 300 on the exact same game as last season!

we need 1800 average to break even our average so far is 1632

on last nights game compared to last year we are down by £4550 approx (yes i have done the maths)

of this £4550 we lost £200 due to the let ST holders from other clubs in for £10 idea

Over pricing for the product we offer will kill our club the sooner we realise that the more chance we have of staying in alive!

The key word is value, how do we ensure fans go home feeling they have had value from their experience, win lose or draw.
The negative side of the LSV experience is the lack of game day provided, in the past they met before and after in the MM bar, in summer they had a beer on the terrace after a game as the kids played on the pitch etc
We need to bring back that community feel, we need to focus on our low hanging fruit more.

We could always pull a gate in for the biggies at HP pre 2004 though eg Wigan and Salford CC, Widnes and Oldham play offs etc, and lets face it LSV is slightly better to watch the game in especially on a wet day.

I think the point Saley2 is missing with his current obsession is that this isn't the only thing going on at the club. Plans and dates are already in place for match day events which will be taking place during the season, aimed at encouraging parents to bring their children etc. In fact there's a whole host of events planned all with the sole aim of getting LOCAL people interested in watching the Centurions and hopefully getting a better match day experience in return.

I think that by now we all get the point being made and it's getting a bit tedious, going round and round and round and round and.....

Mish its great the club are bringing in things like you mention above, i fully support them! i applaude all the hard work that is being done by everyone!! the point is people will not pay what we are charging no matter how many events we put on its as simple as that! the drop in gates proves that open your eyes and get real. espically when fans of other clubs are getting amazing deals to watch Leigh that they can not take advantage of. this only adds fuel to the fire and makes it harder for people like myself to encourage friends family people in my club etc etc etc to come to games!!!

If the club wants help getting fans in then make it easy for us to sell because thats what we all need to do to make LRLFC a success!

Putting £2 on a walk up ticket will not help
letting fans in from other clubs at a 40% discount will not help

No you lower the prices and do all the other great ideas the club is coming up with which they are!!! I only have issue with the £10 deal for other clubs ST holders that is it. all the other ideas seem great to me keep them coming

To be honest I don't think any club as vast number of season ticket holders and thats why they have come up with the idea,I mean if we took our entire season ticket holders[adults if would not fill 2 coaches would it? so feath would not lose out.

That is exactly it - build on Fetch Bob with other incentivised ways to boost home support, including the next generation of potential fans.

Only then give some thought as to how to maximise away/neutral support, but never the other way round - ie have a marketing focus to attract potential customers who will come once a year.

Maybe, however it is also imperative not to tinker too much with the pricing currently in place as this isn't a million miles away from being right - furthermore by definition it would demonstrate our marketing is so bad that our only answer is to cut prices.
