Coaches should be reading the riot act to Crooks, his lashing out cost us big time. Not least, Reynolds was clean through only for it to be called back. Was Bird sin binned in that incident? If not, have to ask how they can have three players cited for the punch up, and all stayed on the pitch!

Don't know how many big bans we can absorb for Acton. He missed 14 games across 2 bans last season, and now could be done for the season. Sadly, he's our only front rower capable of being effective for more than 15 minutes at a time



Myler will get a ban for tripping now that he's injured anyway.

He will be effective playing more than 15 minutes he only plays a fraction of games the other forwards Play in a season due to suspension!!!!

Just watched the video, he will cop a ban but I would think it will be at the lower end of the scale.

Bird was sin binned in the melee too. I think the recommended suspensions for what was a very brief melee are rather harsh. I would love to know whether anyone was considered for a ban, following the two late challenges on Reynolds, that both left him on the deck. (the first of which triggered Acton off)

You are right about Crooks - this will be his second ban in just over a month, if he's found guilty.

If Acton gets 8 matches, that will be ten so far this season. That's a disgrace.

How can Bird get off scot free for the incident that started this?
At best a totally reckless challenge, at worst a calculated attempt to take out Leigh's playmaker.

That's how I saw it Jenky. The fact is that Reynolds picked up a facial injury (he had plugs up his nose for a long time after) and I can't see how that can legitimately happen, to someone who has already kicked the ball. Even if the challenge was 'accidental' it was certainly reckless and didn't just have the potential for injury - the recipient of the challenge WAS injured and received treatment for some considerable time afterwards. Bird also did not want to leave the pitch.

That said, I believe Acton deserves what is coming to him. What he did was highly dangerous - he couldn't possibly have known whether Bird was injured or not.

Well as I see it the lower end of that scale is 8, seems harsh to me, I actually thought little of it at the time - but in the cold light of day you can see why he is being hung for it.

And it's hardly even pleading not guilty because it's there on camera, so unless he claims he was trying to wake him up he's done I'm afraid

He is lucky that Greg Bird didn't actually have a serious neck injury as that would have been a sine die incident. It's indefensible. What kind of example is that to kids? I love what he does when he is on the pitch, but time to get rid, how many chances does the guy need? We also don't need Derek trying to make light of something like this.

Yes Acton did it in the 'heat of the moment' but it was reckless/stupid. Physically didn't do that much, lifted his head up 12 inches, and shoved him back down. BUT Greg Budgie could have suffered a very serious injury in the 'collision ?' with Ben Reynolds.

I have seen the exact same thing happen in the nrl, but cannot remember the players involved,but im sure the "guilty " player didn't get anything like eight match ban.

Acton will get the book thrown at him due to him being a repeat offender. I like the player he been the player of season in my opinion but the dicipline lets him down there no excuse for what he did he will just have to sit back and take what's thrown at him he will be a big loss in the 8s though.

Yes Jamie shouldn't have touched Bird , but he did , no doubt unhappy at what most likely was a deliberate attack on a team mate by the biggest sh*thouse in SL , later in the match he looked to be twisting Crooks leg which resulted in the sin binning and punched Fleming as third man into the tackle

But it seems the pitchforks are out en masse for Jamie , and indeed for us from the wider RL fans fraternity

Yes it's frustrating to probably lose him again most likely for the season , but I'd still want to keep him , overal his discipline has improved apart from some silly stuff , he kept his head when the scuffle broke out and when he seemed to be targeted as the Cats celebrated a try

Well, that challenge by Bird fully realised the "potential for injury" yet he gets away with it!!

With the benefit of hindsight, the move to release Weston doesn't look so good now, thanks to Jamie. I dread to think what will happen if another prop gets injured or suspended and think we need another prop before the play-offs.

Daynes, got knee ligament damage so wouldn't have been available anyway.
