| I attended last nights LISA meeting , and think as Fans if we want to continue having a Club and Team to watch , then its no use blaming each other or the Board , lets all work together and try to do something before its to late .
Last night it was announced by Trevor that this Supporter had agreed to donate £2000 , in 4 instalments of £500 , well done that man , also LISA gave Trevor a cheque for £15,000 again well done to each and every one of its members and fundraisers this will help to get the club hopefully on an even keel till the warmer weather and better attendances arrive .
It was not all positive feeling last night ,everyone is entitled to their oppinions ,it just been said on this particular post , that the club needs to cut its cloth accordingly blimey they cant please everybody , they are not paying out fortunes on players contracts , but they given us a team capable of winning something ,folk moan if the team is not doing well , thats their first gripe , yet folk moan about the money the club is paying out i personally think they are doing well to give us a good squad on field .
For me a couple of the arguments last night were just aimed at Trevor , he handled them very well , Rob Parker seems to working his socks off for the club and has stated he will do anything to make the club successful , there were some good ideas banded about , but Cmon without folk supporting these ideas they are nothing ,LISA , THE TOUCHDOWN CLUB ,all other fundraisers are nothing without folk backing these ideas , dont just come on line saying what is wrong , WE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG , lets do summat about it , summat positive not moaning .
Lets start by turning up on Friday night and cheering the lads on ,Rob Parker said how much the cheers mean to the lads ,Cmon Leythers .

| While I can understand why this message has been sent out by the club, it willl not work in my opinion, I am one of the fans who no longer attends and this does not make me want to go.
I get the emails from the club and I really cannot see what the club are doing to attract new/lapsed fans, all they seem to do is ask the loyal few to ask a mate to come along.
People need to want to come and watch Leigh not be guilt tripped and made to come just so that the club gets some money. I had a season ticket for 10 years and not once in that time was the motivation for having it so that I could ensure the club was generating turnover!

| That's a good question, what will make people come who either haven,t been or stopped coming? If Leyther Always could give us his reasons , it may help the club, on what to do about it.

| I think people who have stopped going have just got fed up with the game.
Licenscing has brought about disallusionment for clubs like ours and twinning is another daft innovation.
I still go because I like watchting RL and indeed the side I have followed since I was 8 years old.
I think we have a great side who play an attractive style and could win a trophy or two this season.
For those who have stopped I hope you give the LSV a visit soon. You might enjoy it.

| In all honesty I don't know, last season I didn't get a ST with the intention of attending a few games which I did, the reason was that firstly I was losing faith in the game as a whole, not just franchising and secondly because I couldn't justify the prices of watching what is now pretty much an amateur league.
If the prices were lower then maybe I would start to attend the odd game when i'm free although most Sunday's I now prefer to play golf (say what you want I enjoy it )
It's a pipe dream but if the atmosphere was better, more people in attendance and lower prices then I think more people would go, it needs to be made into a social scene again not just a concrete box that happens to host a ruby game every other week who are constantly asking for money!!

| Frank as usual is right, the RFL have ruined the game. We are not going to get people paying £16-18 to watch glorified friendlies by just putting messages out on twitter and such. I still attend every game home & away but just don't get excited about the game anymore and find myself having to force myself into attending ( never thought that day would come ) I really don't know the answers into getting more people to attend but Fev seem to be pulling in decent crowds so it shows it is still possible. I think fri night will be a better attendance & no doubt corporate will also do better so can see a lot more games moving back to fri nights. ( maybe sat tea time should be given a crack ) to be honest if they do no-one can complain as the first 2 Sunday afternoon att have been awful & I don't buy the weather & opposition excuses, people just have better ways to spend their Sundays now which as become a way of life ( my pref is sun afternoon by the way but if fri are better than so be it ) I also agree we should never have judged are budgets on crowds of 1800 in this current climate and I know we haven't spent a fortune on the squad but have obv spent too much again, not forgetting 2 weeks ago we signed John o Donnell on a 1yr deal when they must have known we were potentially in trouble again. It is fantastic that LISA have yet again come to the rescue but this cannot keep happening every season. In this current structure and economic climate I really do fear for our long term survival.

| Fev seem to be the only club who are getting it right with improved attendances and good atmosphere.
This can't be all down to their success on the field-we are not that much worse.
What are they doing that others are not?

| Also last week my brother attended a character breakfast at he park inn hotel, and parky pig made an appearance handing out vouchers for 1 adult & 1 child for £10 to any game. Now this is a fantastic offer and one that should be advertised and shouted from the rooftops, get parky on the stall at market giving these out get the offer out to as many folk as possible, we are either serious about filling the ground more or not. Apart from my brother getting these vouchers ( he was aloud as many as he wished ) I would never have known about this, does anyone else out there know about these ??

it needs to be constant though not just an hour 1 week!! not always a player as they have jobs etc!
They need to get younger people used to going every week without fail once they are in that routine they would hopefully then want to go and not see it as a chore!
People go on about it costing money to do this but if they are targeting people who would not otherwise go then its turnover that is otherwise lost regardless if it is half the price of a notmal ticket!!

| People staying away because of lack of atmosphere due to lack of fans are only adding to the problem .You can't state more fans are needed then stay away it doesn't make sense to me and as for atmosphere I haven't found a ground in the championship to have any more atmosphere than the LSV even Fev with their fan base .

I can say that and I did, I didn't say I am staying away due to lack of atmosphere, what I said was that a better atmosphere is needed and yes more people are needed for that. Catch 22? Slightly, but it can be done!
To me, Friday and Saturday nights would be better, target people with cheap/free tickets or if they buy x number of tickets they get a free/cheap drink, if a group of mates were going before a night on the pop then they would also spend at the bar, get them in a regular routine of going, I know not all would do it every week but even if 1 or 2 continued every week its a start. But the club need to be constantly doing this, not just getting a target 1 season and think theyve cracked it!

| Thanks for being honest leyther always
I started a thread a while ago to gauge non attendees like me,to see what there reasons were some replied some avoided the question.
As I said then,I have fell out of love with the game, the structure, the way the rules are evolving.
I don't want to see 46-38 score lines thats not rugby league
THE GAME AS CHANGED FROM THE GAME i FELL IN LOVE WITH
And that sadly is one of the underlining faults coupled with this franchise nonsense were clubs cannot grow they are stifled by there rules.
The same rules that stifle investment in the game
So[I hope it doesn't happen if the league we play in this year collapses perhaps the leaders of our game will take notice and change it.
But now we are just a feeder league twined with super league clubs.
I cannot bring myself to pay top dollar for a reserve league for a sport I barely recognise from the so called bad old days

I know things need to change re getting the fans in the ground and as has been said better weather and who we play will be a factor and this Friday should tell us that .On getting the message across to new/lapsed fans nothing and I mean nothing is ever seen regarding the Leigh matches around Atherton ,not everyone gets the Journal/Reporter. Posters in shop windows could help there are enough businesses in Atherton I'm sure some would oblige a job for Rob Parker maybe, to ring them up and ask .Someone posted that Parky pig was giving out tickets for a tenner ,who new about this i certainly didn't and the town of Atherton and surrounding areas probably didn't .

Presumably the club have on their database the names of people who haven't renewed their season ticket this year or last, get Rob and a few others going and knocking on the door with these vouchers, ask the reasons why they haven't been and try to sell it to them. If you do 20 houses on a Saturday afternoon and a five decide to come back then it is a step towards reaching the 400. Then the next week ring up and ask if they went, if so did they enjoy it. If not why not. Surely that will be more effective than sticking a poster up outside a pub which will go unnoticed, or pushing a leaflet through the door which will end up straight in the bin.

| Couldnt agree more JIC although i may be only a wipper sanpper to some and only had an ST from circa 2001 onwards the game has changed so much, not all bad I must say but the things that have changed for the worse are too frustrting!!

Agree with this also the club need to get out and promote this, they can't rely on other people to do this for them its a sure fire way to fail!!
I live as close to Leigh town centre as anyone and have not seen a single advertisement in years!!

| Saturday's 6-30pm in my opinion would be the best day for home matches
The people I have asked why they don't come anymore the answer is mostly the same too expensive people seem to be struggling in the current climate the cost of petrol is scandalous. 3 yrs ago it cost £50 to fill my car up now it's £70 I have,nt had a pay rise for 5 yrs but thing are going up take the Centurions the Club put up the price to go and watch the match from last season madness in my opinion in the current climate theres also the league we are in couple of decent games against Fev Halifax who bring traveling fans Batley bring a few that's it really the club set the target of 1800 for this year which should be reachable but the ones that stay away get into the habit and only something different will get them back Sat kick off would be one way .Its not that we have,nt got people willing to come and watch the Centurions look at the cup final at Blackpool couple years ago plenty fans supporting us then .....

| I don't think the club was wrong to set the budget based on 1700.
We must have been around that figure last year and we have signed a couple of players that really should increase last years average.
We are a few hundred short on the first two games (bad weather, football on TV and against probably two teams least likely to get our fans excited) and over the season we should get a few better crowds which should at least meet that average 1700 figure.
BUT the club, however they do it, MUST get out there and sell it to the thousands who have never even been near the LSV and stop keep throwing it back at the same 30 - 50 LISA members to get the message accross.
They club must also remember that in the past were we have had a push on new / lapsed fans we got a few hundred extra in only for the team to put in one of their worst performances.

| Does the club know who it's customers are? Isn't this a vital piece of information when trying to get the missing 400 back? Maybe it knows season ticket holders but does it know people who pay on the gate? If it knew, then it could target these people with some direct marketing.
They could get this information by running a small competition when they buy a ticket to get their names / address / email address etc.

| We should all send a text and email to everyone in our address books inviting people to the game tomorrow. Might drag a few along and with a bit of luck find some lost fans and new fans permenantly.
