Can I ask, what is the point of this thread? Were you personally offended by the phrase that j.c. used (and which he has now altered), or do you consider yourself some self-appointed moral guardian of this forum?

If it's the former, then I think you would probably be better off not bothering with this forum, as there are inevitably going to be occasions when someone by-passes the swear filter in order to shock or offend....but that is what the a.u.p. is there for, and it is the job of the moderators to judge each incident on its merits. As has already been suggested, contact the forum mods, or the site administrators.

If it's the latter, and you feel the moderation of the site would be better served by somone with your standards of decency, then again, contact the site administrators - as, I believe 'Fred Parky' is no longer a mod, and has yet to be replaced in this capacity.

Either way, I feel this would be a better approach than starting this thread, which was always going to end up with some posters taking an opposing view to you.....and the inevitable descent into pointless bickering!!

Mmmmm a poster who had made only 10 posts prior to this thread has now posted a further 9 on this topic. This makes me think this person is only trying to cause trouble (especially when you read the first 10 posts which all seem to be confrontational).

And for a 'new' poster, he certainly seems to know his way around a forum.

I've tried above to go with your "owt" and "ya" usage to make me seem more real

I made no attempt to bypass the swear filter walt nor was i trying to shock or offend.
I willl say that i'm still shaking my head that in this day and age such a nothing word can cause so much offence,fortunately its just one person who is behaving like we are still in the 50s
