Supporters of some of his previous clubs ridiculed us when we signed him, yet he was outstanding for Leigh - certainly playing his weight. It's strange how some clubs seem to get the best out of a player and some not. In this case, it worked for us, and not you. With another player, it will probably be different.

Its props like mills which gives you speed round the ruck. We have lacked this due to forwards being dominated in the tackle with minimum players. We miss chris hill for this too. Once in place, players like nicholson and duffy should start having a field day again !

Found this from a forum discussion earlier in the year when a dismal minority like the author of the above were wishing us,Swinton,some good will prior to the start of the season when we dared to make whole SIX new signings following our promotion.

Sorry Mark, but I can't see anything controversial in that quote (how come you didn't 'acredit' it to somone?) - just someone wondering out loud how Swinton will manage to function at this level on a third of the crowds we get, at the same ground we play at, and signing players we had to let go for financial reasons.....it does beg the question, how do you do it?

And as we are now on a VERY tight budget for the foreseeable future, I can't see Mills - if he does decide to re-join - coming back on the same money that he was on when he left.

Definitley sign him up. Was devastated to see him leave. Brings real impact from the bench. If the oppurtunity comes up, get him signed and in the the squad.

The purpose of raising that old quote was that it was an example of the dire bitter anti Swinton sentiment when we dared to sign Mills,Higson and Armstrong,the latter not even being your player. It wasnt about the content. It was like we werent allowed to sign anyone. My point is now the positions are reversed its ok with you guys.
I didnt credit it to anyone because if I had stooped as low on a bad day I wouldnt like being reminded of the fact.

no anti swinton feelings from me, been to a game this year, v dewsbury, spoke on a few occasions to a few swinton fans in the white lion, i am more than happy for them to be playing at the lsv.

Most Leigh regulars are not anti Swinton. I usually attend when Leigh have no game and I see several of Leigh fans there too.

Re my last post I was correcting an obvious typing error and the reason for my original post on this thread was (a) to see if Mills had played for you in the Challenge Cup this season and (b) if he had played for Swinton in the preliminary NRC rounds would that prevent him playing for us in a later round.

Will he re sign for us ? I have no idea but I hope he does.

I hope fred done is bank rolling us but i very much doubt it. I like to think though with his huge fortune we would have the best squad in the whole of rugby league as he truly is RICH.
I know most Leigh fans are fair and normal and we are all equally capable of short sightedness and bias. there is no anti leigh sentiment at all from me,indeed Im more than grateful for the support from Leigh fans and the club itself.

Will we or won't we sign Mr.Mills ? Suppose we'll find out later in the week.
