Perhaps I should answer this one.....

I have written pen pics/profiles on the squad since 2006 which have been put on in previous years.

In honesty, I've got a life to live (although some may question it) and up until recently I haven't had time to sit down and write them. I am now just one player short of completing them, however I have gone far more in depth as I have researched the numbers behind every player - previous games played at previous clubs, tries, goals etc.. It will be put on...

It was pointless putting these on one at a time and the pictures were only done 3 weeks ago.. Heck the club has only just had to send a confirmed squad list to the RFL for inclusion in their handbook so it all takes time and as has been pointed out before, we should only do these things when we know for sure... (Bracek casing point anyone)..

As for other issues / things to look forward to over coming weeks...

Starting tomorrow: Parkinson Pre-Game.
Also look out for the Matchday squads appearing online.. followed by Vital Stats on the evening of a game or day after. (Teamsheets, when tries were scored, etc).
Due to my obligations with newspapers/programme I will not be putting match reports online... other than in the Pre-Game articles which will be older ones.
Other ideas in the pipeline include short snappy interview pieces with players, I plan to run updates on our under-18 squad that is coming together.

I have been given admin access to the site and will be helping out. Criticism when constructive is fine and those people that want to have a go at me on this matter, they certainly can.

Have you noticed increased traffic/messages on the clubs Twitter account? We are in an exciting period of time where there is plenty of momentum, it just needs co-ordination and hopefully with me being onboard and helping a little here and there we will become that little bit more media savvy. (It helps with me being asked to write for the Journal again for the season).

Things will and are improving... look at all the new initiatives in place, all the people helping..

You're another of these selfish folk who let work get in the way of what some folk consider to be priorities, on here!

I know a lot of you are putting in lots of good work, time and effort in, on our behalf to make the club the best it can be, and I for one really appreciate it, but please let’s not become over defensive when someone raises what to me appears to be a valid concern. If you want to know any info about the club, especially who plays for them, then the first place most would start would be the clubs official site.

Having a new one is brilliant and if in the meantime we are having trouble keeping the current one updated but there are other avenues where the info is available, which are more easily updated perhaps like Twitter or Leigh Life, neither of which I go on unless some link on here directs me to those sites, then isn’t that the simple answer for the time being? Post simple link on the official site saying “We are having a new web site developed in the meantime Player info can be found here” (Link to Leigh Life)”

I didn't think I was being over-defensive, it's always good to get peoples opinion on things.

All I was doing was explaining my point of view, the fact it becomes expected suggests that the new website can not be made into a monster.

We do want the same thing.. A Leigh Centurions being as successful as we can be and as a result that means that the window people see the club through has to be as good as it can be. That's where it all stems too.

I don't think we are being 'over-defensive'. The fact is that people are working bl**dy hard to do good things. Yes, some things will be missed, or put on the back-burner. Yes, the website is important - although I would suggest it isn't the b-all, end-all, particularly for those who haven't got computers. (have you thought about the age-profile of our supporters?) There are fans who say, "I haven't got a computer. I'd like to know what's going on too." Therefore we are looking at other means of communication.

Good things =#FF0000are happening - not just 'happening' but are being =#FF0000made to happen. Maybe we are being a tad 'sensitive', but it is very frustrating when folk mouth off, without wanting to know the facts of an issue, or apparently can't even see that the Club is now doing many good things, that it wasn't doing in the very recent past.

So, I'm afraid I will continue to be 'sensitive' about criticism of people I am working with, who are giving up a lot of their time - especially those who have a full-time job to do too!

C'mon Alan, I was talking to your Mrs and even she said you were slacking and capable of doing much more. She feels that whilst compiling the programme the handle could be positioned where the sun don't shine and the carpet would get a good hoovering without any more effort from yourself, bar a little discomfort afterwards.
Get a grip man, think of all the freebies and money you will earn from brown envelopes - you may even get a Blazer!!!!!

No chance of getting anything in brown envelopes either, these days. The club can't afford them!

Does feel a bit like that at times! I'll always reserve the right to defend those who I work with, when I know what they're doing.

All respect to you and the others like the NSFC the comms group the PSG and all the others beavering away behind the scenes and those of you who stick their heads above the parapet to keep us informed, as unfortunately there are always those that appear to be a little jealous and nervous as they tend not to trust those that go the extra mile or two instead they are content to sit at home behind a keyboard and make 'what they should do' posts on places like this instead of getting off their behinds and doing something positive, I only wished I lived a little nearer and could do my bit a bit more, keep up the good work and ignore the peons on here who cant do anything else but criticize.

For what it's worth, I think concerns such as the website not being updated are more than valid and similarly it's good to know that steps are being taken to remedy this.

Now let's just enjoy supporting our club and everyone do their bit, no matter how big or small
