YET AGAIN...Shocking timing, potential to disrupt Leigh Centurions before a big set of fixtures and takes away a lot of the positives that was being built up.
The RFL has to stop all these 'he's leaving next year' type signings and have a bloody transfer window or at least keep it until the end of season before coaches and players are spoken to.

What a fantastic advert for the 'building for 3 years' franchising this is proving.
We are now 2 key players and a coach down for next season (and I've no doubt we will lose more).
Remind me how this will improve our club and increase our support and profile exactly ?

The lack of investor speaks voulumes and isn't just 'recession based', only a idiot would invest in a club stuck in a dead league without any control in how it climbs the ladder and progresses.

Events like this make you totally disillusioned with the 'sport' of RL.

I hope the club are as candid as you are when speaking to the supporters as to the direction they think this club will be going in, in the future.

To be honest gutted but its hardly surprising is it, it was always going to happen.
I think hes worthy of a better club than Cas.
Hope we bring someone in we can afford and who can coach, Rowleys doing a grand job with the fitness and conditioning, so keep him in that position.
We cant afford to pay him what we are paying him and afford a decent team next season, unless another 500 more fans decide to sign up for LISA or the Co-operate Club.

well like all leythers gutted he's going, but to be honest as soon as thomas went the writting was firmly on the wall wasn't it. Just been on the cas board, what a miserable bunch they are, they do not seem to realise what a top rl coach they have. who next for the job, well i think i know who will get it, just hope i am wrong, it should i hope be advertised, would be fasinating to see who fancied the job. good luck ian you are a star in my eyes and always welcome back mate.

Rovers and Widnes proved what could be achieved, and to think that the club is small in RL terms is insulting!

How would people describe Leigh then? Stepping stone... yo-yo have always been words used to describe it.

2000 fans through the gate suggests that the club is small, especially when we need 3000 to turn in any kind of profit. These are messages that have to be communicated, otherwise we will contract in a contracting competition.

In honesty we do tend to think we are bigger than we are. We now need to work doubly hard to ensure any future success. There are positives, the local talent virtually on the doorstep could help this club and I hope the young lads can realise their potential with us.

Coaches have always come and gone from Leigh and continue to do so. Our club either has a habit of starting or kick-starting a coaching career, or killing it stone dead.

sorry we are a massive club with a certain SL place tomorrow and have tens of thousands of investors awaiting in the wings and we keep all, our best players and coaches .......Oh wait a minute!!

Like I said before. If it's to save the club from financial ruin then fine but why Cas. If he had stayed and we were to win everything this and next year one of the top clubs would have had him. But then we get to the old saying of "if ifs and buts were fivers and tenners we would all be millionaires. Lets not fall out Leythers.

There is a lot of Little Leyther mentality - are many conditioned from birth to think this way?
A 10 min drive from the LSV covers a massive population, we have a fantastic facility for fans and we have some of the best junior talent in RL within that 10 min drive.
I think we have a fantastic opportunity that we are currently incapable of tapping into.

But if going into administration 4/5 months into next season was a possibility then we end up in a bigger mess and Ian ends up out of a job half way through a season

Administration would happen close season IF it were to happen at all.

It won't happen now , but it would have been a possibility if recent events hadn't happened

What does the begining of my post say?

We know what the shortfall is , it had to be sorted , a lot of it now is sorted

We have our place in the food chain - we're smaller than Cas and pretty much all of the Super League clubs, but there again we're bigger than most of the Championship sides and those in Championship One. Can't see any negativity in that.

There is sense in that. And our unique position gives us advantages and challenges. We can attract the best outside of SL - but then we are also a shop window for talent. It means we have to be creative, flexible, innovative and agile to keep ahead. true - its not for the feint hearted supporter, but i don't think stability and medicority is our style?
