I agree 100 % with what they are doing and think that if every club did the same the rfl would have to listen, United we stand a chance Divided we fail. For us championship club 'fans' any REAL excitement has gone, unless we're in a final (where there is a prize, but it is not recognized by the media) or if we play a non relegation club in the challenge cup. All the nervousness pre-match, excitement over a try or win, dissapointment over a defeat, kicking the cat etc.... has gone. (There is all of the previous, but it's all at a reduced level, and we've got used to it now, it's the norm)

Why not launch a campaign to every RL club asking them NOT to apply for a SL licence in 2014 as a protest. That will screw the system up. Of course the fat cats already in there would never go for it. As for the Fax campaing I'd dump the Hate RFL bit (even though we all do). Just promote the campaign for P&R to be reinstated,

I'd even leave the P and R bit alone GKR , all we want is a fair share of their time , money and respect , which at the moment we don't get

Franchising has split the support in this country - that is certain.
You can argue around in circles to the benefits / disadvantages caused by it as it depends on your viewpoint.

However the Celtic situation(s) has been some ill thought out set of ideas since day one and with each day comes more scandal that is doing the game no favours.
A chance to really move into Wales might have been lost due to poor groundwork and ill thought out plans, equally the Toulouse situation cannot be ignored as that has also been a huge expense for little return in a league where money is very tight.

I think the RFL do some brilliant work and to see comments aimed at the 'RFL' is to taint every employee of that organisation - some who are doing fantastic jobs in trying circumstances.
However there has been some seriously poor decisions made concerning Celtic which have brought the game into disrepute, I'm sure it wasn't intentional but I feel the decent thing is for one of Mr Lewis or Mr Wood to do the decent thing and step aside and take the scandal out of the situation.
IMO the game needs a new man or women to come in learn from the errors and take us forward without this constant reference to failure which will always slow us down and make a fair percentage of support untrusting of it s governing body - that cannot be allowed to happen.

Unfortunately every organisation is seen to be only as good as it's 'head' people as its those same people who take all the applaudits yet in the RFL's case seem reluctant to take the 'brickbatts' (which is I suppose the same as every large organisation) the RFL govern a sport with tens of thousands of supporters yet seem to take none of those supporters ideas/complaints etc.. onboard, instead they find a 'fall guy' to take thethe blame in any one 'cock up' and seem to do it as an 'It's your turn next' scenario.

Instead of jumping on an ill informed bandwagon (the OP was blatantly drunk), why don't you wait for Halifax's press release following the feedback.
Under the clubs' agreement the RFL cannot disclose the information only Halifax can, only, where is it? If their chairman likes his ranting and raving i'm sure he'll only be too happy to disclose the 'lies' told by the RFL, only he wont, because Halifax's bid was in fact, tosh.

I think the Halifax club needs to be very careful in how it responds to its supporters when it give its reasons why it thinks it was turned down for a licence.
If it clams up and tells them nothing or very little then the supporters will start to vent there anger on the club instead of the rfl and if that happens then all the hard work they've done over the last 3 years or so will have been wasted.

Well obviouly you are not good at maths as you have put two and two together and made 5 .Back in March we were asessed along with other Super League teams and were deemed fit for Super League by the RFL .If our bid was no good then they would have merely told us it was no good like they did with Barrow.
It was never going to be a fair apraisal because we were only being used as a "stick" to make the teams who never bothered with grounds etc over all the years of Super League make some attempt at it.
If our submission was gash then one wonders why we were not told of this in March? It is unlikely our Board will come out with any more criticism of the RFL as they will have been given the hard word as will Gary Etherington or anyone else who speaks out.
I had a message from someone at the INDIPENDANT body which is Supporters Direct saying that they cannot speak out as they are part funded by the RFL so the people who were trying to start up an Indipendant Supporters Trust at Leigh some time back my advice to you is don`t bother.
They will organise a meeting where Rimmer and Robbie Whatsit Paul will tell you how good franchising is how well things are going down at Crusaders and Robbie will tell you to stop paying over the hill Aussies and get your finances in order.

Problem being sir is you've completely misinterpreted the phrase 'met minimum standards'.

'Ticking the box' wasnt meeting minimum standards for an application ala Barrow, Halifax met minimum requirements and were put through to the application process. Their bid was naff, underprepared and the RFL were obviously very disappointed. The RL journalists all know, if you look around you can find a comment or two regarding it
