Jeff still looks 'fighting fit' he lives in Australia now and has two young boys, I spoke to him on the phone a couple of years ago he still looks back at his time at Leigh with greta fondness and memories.

anytough 13 for me would have to include Charlie Pawsey, Stan Owen Derek Hurt and the notorious McFarlane Brothers Joe was the toughest brother but Bill was the best player

When we were kids playing for Pennington,C of E the first question always asked by the opposition was ,Is Cottrell playing?Their heads would drop ,if we said yes. Tony played Stand-Off in them days.

My dad used to tell me about the likes of Charlie Pawsey, Trevor Allen, The McFarlane brothers and Rex Mossop. Said they were real tough guys.

did say "rightly so" dont agree with dirty play but given the chance would rather have him runn ing with me than against me,just hoped someone older and maybe wiser would have remembered him

i remember him i think he played for leigh think at the end of his career, also remember the article which was in the sunday people.
