The number of head injuries could be put down to the very impressive and aggressive defencife display from Batley , but to suggest anything sinister would be daft in the extreme

I'm not saying one side was dirtier than the other. But when the ref gave a penalty to Leigh when Riddy fell into a tackle and a Batley player hit his head at knee height, then two minutes later Donlan caught one in the nose when running upright and didn't get a penalty. Bizarre!

Nowt malicious from Batley they played a hard game, and knocked us about.
I just put it down to bad luck, and lets not start making excuses, they outplayed us, and hope they win the final personally.

Certain it was done in a big hit by two Leigh players. Everyone around us commented on it at the time.

Don't think anybody is looking for excuses already said i along with others congratulated their fans and KH its just that i've never seen so many head injuries in one match before thats all

Most (if not all?) of the head injuries looked to have been caused by clases of heads .... not really a symptom of poor tackling technique?!

Watch the game again - the commentator remarks on him having a problem - rewind a little to him running wth the ball, he passes and then gets clatterred. It looks like a collision but as I said, in a collision two bodies collide, not heads - I am not sure how the Batley players head hit Tommy's ear/face first unless he led with his head

Watching the game on tele what i saw was John Gallagher taking the ball in away from his own line and two Leigh players put a massive hit in that forced him to lose the ball but Goulden suffered a nasty injury. Total accident

Yeah i didnt see anything in it, having said that though there was a lot of high shots that went unpunished.

Clarified by IM. Goulden took a hit, and then aggravated things in the second incident, (tackling one of their guys) which is the one I saw.

It must have been a very bad head collision to damage his ear so badly ,who would be a rugby player !brave is n't the word,take that young lad for instant on Sunday who broke his nose ouch.
