I don't buy into this mad conspiracy theory for an instant. Perhaps the other teams in our position just want it more than we do and have stepped up their game accordingly. Perhaps they're willing to fight harder for what they want!

Just to point out I still think we will beat Toulouse and Whitehaven and if we still go down after that, Gateshead will have to beat Barrow away and Batley will have to have won 2 of their games, an unlikely scenario in my opinion!

Why, beacause we will get more points out of our remailning games than one of the two other teams in the mix.

Sorry Keith i completely disagree with you. In the present financial climate Leigh are a must for these clubs whether we challenge them or not an the RFL know this, they know that the likelyhood of us having a good side next season will happen therefore our travelling support will increse and they need the money, also as has been said before how can 2 teams out of ann11 team comp go down? doesn't make sense also only one Lancashire team in the championship doesn't look good does it? Hopefully they will see sense and increse the league to 12 or just relegate the already finacially stricken dons

The key could be being made to play Fax the Wed before the Haven game, we should refuse. Play it when it suits us I say.

it could be the key as i can see Fax playing a weeker team as they will probably have secured there play off position and as i have said will be happy for us to stay up rather than the other two imo.

Good ideas but unlikely because firstly it would be unfair on the playoff winners in Championship 1 and secondly the other idea leaves only 9 teams in that league for next season.

A more sensible suggestion might be to amalgamate both leagues play 32 league games a season, have the NRC as a straight knockout and a top 8 playoff.

Course if we do survive leave things as they are.

The points For column surely is depressing. Looking at the table we still have advantage over Gateshead (game in hand too) if we can win the Toulouse game. If Sheff can do us a favour today then it really does set the Toulouse game as a big game, and possibly most important since 2004 IMO.

Halifax are beatable at the moment to be fair. There are games to win for you, it's going to be tough to stay up which is a shame but you can still do it.

We still have to win games though Derek. Batley one point ahead, and Gateshead one point behind, but we've got a game in hand. That was theoretically Batley's easiest remaining game.

So if Batley lose all there remaining without a BP we are safe if we get 2 BPs (pts diff means 1 won't be enough) or one win, against either Toulouse/Fax or Haven. On current form can you honestly say we can do it?

The only way I see it is if Havens play off place is decided and they rest a few. Then again we could beat toulouse as they don't travel well so we are told just after beating Fev at Fev and Featherstone have just beaten Widnes.

Ive never known so many pessimists to gather in so many numbers, were a point behind Batley with a game in hand, were a point ahead of Gateshead, again with a game in hand, our fate is in our hands. If the players went out onto the pitch with your attitude youd be on their backs quick enough, SHUT UP AND GET BEHIND THE TEAM.

At the minute we are the weakest link , we are the ones who need a massive change of form

All Gateshead and Batley have to do is continue what they are doing , ie scoring points , because of that both of them will pick up more points , be they from wins or bonus

To get back to the original question, me! Batley wont pick up anymore points with their remaining games being so hard and we will get at least 2 more bonus points, maybe even 2 wins.

And what do you think all this will achieve? As I said, our fate is in our hands, only we can do something about it, and all this "were doomed" mentality and attitude will not help, and if you are behind the team, then SHOW IT.

Barring Batley getting a real upset somewhere, I think we need 4 more points to be safe.

I really didnt think I would have to explain this but...when i say we, i mean the club, the players, the fans...I would have thought that was obvious...even to you. As for saying that only the team can do something about it, dont the fans have a part to play? Or should we all sit here and be quiet and miserable? The reality is that we ALL need to get behind the players, not get on their backs, and then expect them to go out there and give their all, would you? I dont think you would. You don't have to explain. I can say come on Leigh with the best of you, cause you are better than me. I can also be realistic, Fax scored 36 points and lost today. We haven't scored more than 32 in a game all season and that wasn't even against Doncaster.

Looking at the way you are speaking to me, if we god forbid do go down, I am sure you will be ready to blame it on the pessimists, rather than rank bad club management, rank bad recruitment, oh and a rank bad team.....good players but not a team
