I am sure Saints and Hull would have had a massive following, but I would have expected Cas to take many more fans than Quins.

Regardless there appears to be a significant trend at the moment. Have they run out of free tickets or are the Welsh public not buying into our game?

I wonder if the 2 plonkers who present Super League will report on this significant trend rather than wetting themselves how well the Welsh public have taken to the Crusaders and indeed Super League as they reported against Hull

Indeed. Our crowds are definitely nothing to shout about. Frankly, they're embarrassing when stacked against the Crusaders, free tickets or not.

Give Kelly all the tools he needs to do the job and we will be a success. Tie his hands behind his back and he won't be able to do the job to his full ability.

They are in SL though - we get 2300 in The Co-operative Championship and we're not even playing anything like rugby.

No we don't, we've got that once this season and even then with hundreds of free tickets.

But you do have the best facilities outside SL by a country mile and perhaps better than most SL clubs!

That didnt help us last time around...although there is a chance that RFL actually believe the LSV exists now.

Cracking stadium all t'same. I alway enjoyed Hilton Park but this place is something else. Looks and feels great.
I just wished more people from Leigh used it.

Well the board has always backed the coach with as much money as they could (remember we were fined for breach of salary cap which proves my point) so define ambition cause if they had none why provide the cash?

all i am sayin is we always seem to settle for the few scraps we get goin back to 1971 won at wembley within a week half the team had gone 1981 won 1st division never built on it got to super league after 4 finals came back down after one season thats what i mean when i talk about ambiton

Maybe if we'd shown less "ambition" in 2005, we'd be in a better position now!

maybe if we stuck with the team that got us to superleague maybe we might be better off financially, swings and roundabouts i`m afraid.

The 71 and 82 teams were good honest outfits that Murphy got the best out of. In both instances he left soon after and the nucleus of side either went with him, broke up, or retired and we didnt build on what was left for various reasons.

I'm not blaming Murphy for not building upon it but dont forget within a year or two the teams were totally different and we lost direction.

In my opinion we were punching above our weight with an above average but hardworking and honest team on crowds of less than 5000. Don't forget we had to sell the training ground in the 80's to keep us live.

SL.....we built a squad a month after the pick of the bunch had been signed up by other SL teams. It was always going to be tough to build a decent team in those circumstances particularly if we would only commit to one year deals for highly paid players (it would have been financial suicide to do anthing else).

I dont like it anymore than you, but ambition is one thing, cutting your cloth to suit is something else.

We've only had 2 good teams in almost 40 years, a few half decent ones, but apart from that we're an average club, with average support, from an average town.

Lets not forget the board of directors have changed umpteen times too

I keep reading on here that the Rowleys are not very well liked in rugby , i thought fans where glad when Paul came back to play for us so can someone please enlighten me on what the problem is ,this is a genuine question.

Rowley snr put his large foot in it re his reply to the rl on Leigh not gaining entry to super league,plus he does B...r all.paul is regarded as arogant and is not a team player

Lets not get into character asassination of the the Rowleys now. Both Alan and Paul are very decent people. What the pair of them have done for our club should never be forgotten. Having said that (and it is with regret that I say this) Paul and some of the back room staff are the only common denominators for the way we play. I'm sorry to say that I too think they should be replaced and NK to bring in his own team.
