£25 a month buys an awful lot of records y'know, glow. Don't want you making any rash decisions

and about £3 in fuses

Any financial help is welcome.It doesnt matter if its £25 or £250 pm.lets get behind our team,and those who want to back it financially

Sorry, but whilst you can't argue with extra dosh being needed, the way in which it's generated has to be done fairly.

What no-one is acknowledging here is that it's far from transparent what the businesses take back out again.

If there was actually something to "take back out" then I don't think we'd be so desperate for further investment.

Well done to the fellas, it's exactly what we need. I'm absolutely sure they have put in far more than the minimum £25 per month, but however much it is it can only be good for the club. especially if it encourages more to do the same.

These guys putting money into the club are business people from Leigh at a time when keeping a business afloat (especially anything associated with the Construction Industry) is demanding to say the least. I think they should be applauded for their efforts.

So, explain to me what you think the 'perks' might be?

just why exactly are you so dead against someone putting money into the club?

here is my idea i know its a bit far fetched

Money is tight for everyone at the moment so why not volenteer your time instead of money with a few perks thrown in



Apply for a stewarding position at a local Super league club who play on Friday nights.

Say you work 5 hours @ £5 an hour thats £25 x 13 home games = £325 per person per season

You are donating the money to our club so we get better players and all it cost you is a few hours a week
Another club is paying for our team



All money could be paid directly into one account then given to the club at the start of the season and nobody will have spent a penny and you got to watch good rugby for free

Again someone judging others by what is obviously their own poor standards

All the five gentlemen mentioned in the press release, have each put capital into the venture, and let me put it this way, it's alot more than £25 each.

Andrew some wouldnt believe you even if you showed them the bank slips its far easier to be negative (especially when the negative people are self confessed part timers) about good news, especially when they are also confirmed doom and gloomers.

Reading the release its pretty obvious that these guys are not just putting in 25 a quid a month - it wouldn't be worth the effort if thats all it was..

They have got off their backside and made a contribution so hats off to them - surely more money has to be a good thing. And we all know that the chances of getting a financial return are very low - but there may well be some positive PR for their businesses - fair do's...

Hopefully more details will emerge as to what membership of this "club" entails - how will they ensure each member gets a say and will it be "one member, one vote"..

I would expect more like one vote per share, the more you invest the more say you have.

Some people just get on my nerves. If someone offered to put £10 million into the club they'd want to know why it wasn't £11 million!!

They are not only providing cash with this venture but also business acumen something which the club needs and is seeking (obviously with this news), now if that isn't good news then 'gawd' only knows what is, one of the 'original 5' is a long time backer and supporter of Leigh RFC and is the nephew of one of this boards longest (and oldest

far older than I anyway) contributors whose family has long been established in various ventures In Leigh for a long long time, I can't speak of the others as I do not know of them.

Knowing 3 of the 5, I can assure you their intentions are good.

Giving they know their onions with property and its management, I'd like to be a fly on the wall if they negotiate with with LSV.

I assume they would have done. It would be nice for them to say how much to be honest. I don't see why that should be a secret if we're looking at "transparency" in the future.

From what I can read after that though is that they're just asking fans to dig deeper "again". I realise it's a new initiative and on the face of it a good idea but we need more details before I can judge.

However if I was paying to go to every game already I don't have another £25 + per month to put in.

It wasn't a criticism it was an observation.

Good on them for putting in. I realise the scheme is in it's early stages so in the coming weeks it'll require some clarity on what you get for your money.

Well done to the five men think this can only be good for the club dont see how it can be bad
