The bigger the profile of the club , the more important Corporate and sponsors become , they like Friday nights , and differentiates them from Football , where the real money goes , proportionatley we rely a lot more on the paying fan
Also it tends to be a 'chicken and egg ' scenario , which comes first , the corporate and sponsor , or the number of fans ?
I have yet to see any stadium with corporate but no fans , but lots with fans but no corporate

I know your only passing on the info Alan, but why did the club not ask it's largest group of customers, the 2000 plus that between them pay around £20-30K per match?

So your targeting of ' people with money ' will be what exactly , apart from switching to friday nights ?'"
I don't know how simple it is or isn't. I don't and never have worked in marketing, but from where I'm sat the targeting of primary schools 5 miles away doesn't work, when we do have ticket giveaways etc we struggle to fill the Family Stand even a quarter. For me the best marketing idea would be to use the fans we do have, give incentives to people to bring extra people to matches with them, advertising games in places that attract a lot of traffic, ie the exits of supermarkets, pubs and clubs, Use the Leigh Reporter and Journal a lot more, sign the club up with a local charity and have players make appearances, handing over of cheques etc, even targeting the houses that are literally a stones throw away from the stadium, that are going to be living there for the next 20 years.
In my opinion those ideas would be more beneficial than throwing free tickets at Primary School kids.

Well I for one wouldn't be seen dead at the LSV on Saturday nights! That's a ridiculous suggestion. If that happend I would cancel my LISA membership, cancel my touchdown direct debit and never ever buy a shirt again! The lottery subscription would be cancelled as well. In fact, every time I drive home from work I would purposely avoid driving down the bypass so that I never saw the LSV again. I would make it my lifes mission to hunt down the people who made that descision and kidnap their childrens pet rabbit until they reversed their ridiculous descision

| So there you have it,the clubs likes the corperate mob more than the fans, trev tell them to jangle there jewellery against the glass so the players realise they are still watching.
As for the oh look moving to friday will bring in hundreds of more fans than sundays, please tell me how????
The clubs crowds have grown over the last 2 seasons and we looked to be building a solid base but now we play thursday friday sunday how on earth we attract a crowd when we are moved from pillar to post every other week is beyond me?
Good luck with this one leigh, expect to see trev in the journal midway through the season saying does the town want a team
Perhaps the biggest blessing would be for the 3 wise monkeys to make a total mess of this season and sadly the club dies and the fans can set up a new club free from clowns and debt, even if it means starting again in the lower division, remember the lsv will sell itself to any sod who wants to play there roll on 2013 and hopefully a new club with fan power running it
Then again according to some we will be pulling in 3k crowds with us moaners out the way on a friday

Open the South Stand for 12-16yr olds only, open it at 6 and have Wii competitions, bush tucker trials, X factor comps, disco, in the concourse area prior to the game, £2 entrance, sell pop and crisp cheap.
Mum and Dad may just buy a ticket for the other end to ensure they get home ok.

All those are good idea's that should be tried , all of them have been recently suggested and hopefully all , or at least most will be tried , but you still have the problem of getting ' them ' , whoever ' them ' may be in the stadium to start with , the second problem is then , when you get ' them ' in , making the stadium a place ' they ' want to return to
Part of that is having large numbers of people in the stadium to start with
How often have we had a ' family stand ' ? , and where is it ?
There isn't one magic formula that will solve our problems , it is a strategy , a plan with many many things all done over and over again that will improve things

Its obvious we need to increase both and for me this is the place to start plus if the new regime and there policies fail we can always go back to sunday and accept our place in the food chain.Only next time the rfl give a leg up to bristol or coventry there'll be little point in moaning about it will there because we've got a support base with no ambition have we.

I wouldn't like to guess
But I can tell you for fact, Higher Folds Friday night disco for this age group started off with about 25 kids in 1975, and very quickly increased to over 300 members and about a further 100 on the waiting list.
How do I know this, my parents started it because me and my mates had nothing to do, what have these kids got to do in Leigh now on a Friday night for a couple of quid?

Tough,
The players wives have a girls night out on Fridays and need the boys at home on Sundays to do the decorating.
Barton and Freer conducted a highly intensive bit of research into it ('What do you think Mr Barton' ? , 'I don't know what do you think Mr Freer', 'Errrrmm , Lets go for Saturdays as Fridays is corporate Chippy Tea night').
I also here they hope to see gates rocket and have also decided to play alternate Tuesdays at 4PM as it ties in nicely with the corporates who have had a round of golf at Penny Flash teeing off at 1PM.

| Having discussed this at length tonight, it does certainly open up the opportunity for those involved in the amateur game to attend more and also avoid the 'nice day' factor where our crowd drops because the kids want to go to the park or the seaside etc.
If there is a proper marketing strategy for the Friday games then I'm starting to think we could make some headway in a few areas;
The type who can see the rugby as a start to their night out
Those with families who are occupied on Sunday's with trips out, mowing the lawn and all that
Those with younger kids who don't have to worry about school in the morning (I did find it a rush to get home from home games this season and get my lad off to bed for 7pm once he's had his tea and a bath etc)
In particular we need to somehow target the "I'm bored" kids and make the LSV 'the place to be' on a Friday night instead of knocking about Lily Park etc and would also do our bit for the community in a certain sense
It will be as much of a success as we make it - us as fans have pulled out all the stops to see us through the Leigh Survival period, but now the hard work really begins
