If the club said in an effort to increase gates to 10,000 all fans get in for £1 would you not voice concern over this? Brilliant idea in principle however im sure the maths wouldnt add up at the end. Just because a few at the top may think its a good idea does not gaurentee success!

As trevor tells us now we are all "shareholders" we should be raising concerns were applicable and getting behind ideas that have sound well thought out figures behind them!

This kinda thing makes more sense for Fev to do this offer for 'away fans' with season tickets, quite a few Yorkshire clubs....8
As for us, depending on how clubs are doing at the time - who will bring more than 200 fans ??

Here is a point to consider for the people who support this idea and think it will work.

Why is this attractive to other clubs? because it is great value for money £10 for an adult and child to get in is brilliant!!

Why then do you have to be a season ticket holder to take advantage? why not open the offer up to everyone?

All the local superleague/chanmpionship clubs supporters could then take advantage not just their ST holders as well as the Leigh public? would this not have a big impact on our gate?

Because it needs to be controlled in same way, and being a season ticket holder is the tried and trusted way to do that. Don't forget visiting junior season ticket holders have got in for free for years anyway.

You've lost me there mate? If the offer gets spread throughout the league then I think we should be looking at the positives that it could be a great marketing tool for us to increase our season ticket sales (which I understand can still be bought).

If they bring 200 at full price, total revenue at average of £17 each = £3400
If £10 each will they bring 340 in order for us to achieve parity? Try no.

Coupled with the fact we would all have to get there early to beat the rush of Leigh fans without season tickets or Touchdown memberships beating down the ticket office door to pay £16-18??

we take 300 away roughly this will not get anybody else to go to away games in my opinion

See above. There's far more control than saying "all away fans" in which case it's anyone who isn't wearing a Leigh shirt. The alternative would be for each club to issue vouchers to each supporter as was the case with the juniors before this year.

As it is, this thread is certainly in danger of being listed in the dictionary alongside "storm in a teacup" so I suggest the proof will be in the pudding and hopefully the club will be able to analyse how successful it is - the revenue per head in comparison to last season's game against Batley should probably do the job.

its not abuse if you open it up to everyone including the leigh public if its such a great offer that will incorage more ST holders from other clubs to watch a game at leigh why would this not encourage floating fans to return?

The very few fans who will travel to fev because of this and take advantage are our ST holders. what about the other 1000+ people we have naffed off with this idea?Plus the majority of our fans dont go to away games especially pay on the day fans

and before the get a season ticket response comes not everyone can afford one or afford £240 over a year to go in the Touchdown club

You'd be surprised how big a proportion of our away support is non season ticket holders mate. As a straw poll, of 16 of us who are regular away supporters, no more than 5/6 of us are season ticket holders this season.


No way of proving whether that happens or not, nor has there been much suggestion of that from non season ticket holders on here?

AS I see it a Batley season tocket holder can get in for Ten pounds and bring a kid free of charge, little Johnny from leigh , wants to come tonight, his dads skint and cant take him, so he misses out.
IMHO all junior school aged kids should be let in FREE OF CHARGE.
What works for FEV, is not the same as us, as they own their own ground and can charge more for beer, pop, food and can claw the saving back, we cant.

You've missed the point Stef in that it also shows that there will be visiting fans coming to the LSV who will be paying full price, just as there will be our fans at away clubs.
