To be honest mate this is what happens with word of mouth, we've been biting our lips for a while now, itching to let people know exactly where we were up to. We'd love to have rolled this all out earlier and believe we have been in a position to do so for a number of weeks.

However, for many valid (and constructive) reasons we've not been able to which has been frustrating for all concerned. I wont bore you with all the ins and outs but everyone concerned have been pulling and pushing it.

Bronze isn't scrapped, it's just merged with silver (and improved) for the simple reason there were only 7 silver members so it didn't make sense splitting the two again. There's no ulterior motive and I state again, it's not £30 either.

The various emails etc throughout the year were done, but there have been numerous 'technical' issues shall we say over the season which we hope will improve.

Regarding the comment about it being badly run, the TDC generated around £30k with a good profit margin. The 'elite' Gold members, who are fans like the rest of us, coughed up a large amount of money themselves to subsidise the fans travel to Featherstone, and raised almost £5k from the bike ride and summer ball.

We've always said that people are more than welcome to come and help, we're fans too so there's no them and us. Trevors door is always open and Keith will answer any questions too.

i think if anybody can afford the t/d club then give it a go, hopefully this next season they will have ironed out the teething troubles.

Communication seems to be the TDC's biggest issue, it needs sorting as it's such a good concept.

re the sadium tours mine was cancelled twice.

I didn't know anything about a stadium tour, and didn't get any information from anyone throughout the season.

The lack of communication has been an issue and certain things promised didn't happen albeit through teething problems .I found out about one of the meals from another member otherwise I would have been non the wiser . I am not however finishing with the TDC just for those reasons but it has helped in my decision to go back to the regular ST .I hope the TDC goes from strength to strength as it is a good concept but I find it is not for me .

Re the touchdown club

The idea was great just needs simplifying and someone who has time to manage it.
IMHO there should only be deals which include season tickets or corporate, as fans can be a LISA member and pay any amount they want.

The strategy I forwarded last year:

[i1. Not all fans have enough disposable income to pay up front - we must make it affordable to maximise Season Ticket sales
2. Leythers are proud and passionate folk and we must sell to these emotions
3. We must make these fans feel very special and enhance their game day experience
4. We need a strap line to bind these fans, and a clear objective of where we wish to be and when

I believe our opportunity is to create a 'Proud Leyther' brand with the objective of taking our club into SL via the next Licence application. To do this we need to hit certain goals, currently win the NRC/Appear in a GF, financial stability, ground, crowds and youth policy (any more?). So how I see it is that if we hit financial stability via ambition and not silly cost cutting, we should win a licence - sell that to our target market !!

We have what I see as a very under used facility in the main bar area at LSV - all parties should co-operate and share the benefits of increased foot flow and income in this area - a bar area many fans have never set foot in. This should become the 'Proud Leythers' meet up point before games on matchdays, it should be vibrant and family friendly and become a touch point for players/coaches/fans.

My suggestion is to offer our core fans the opportunity to join the 'Proud Leythers', the package includes a season ticket, access to this bar and its benefits pre and post game (subject to safety limits), quarterly forum's, a bespoke polo shirt containing the crest and the 'Proud Leyther' logo together with unique access to players and coaches eg spend gameday with Basil in the gantry, be involved with warm up, travel on the bus to away games etc (obviously only one fan at a time by a weekly draw).

What we now start to do is make these fans feel special, a true part of the club they love - giving them real value for their money, indeed often giving them potential access to things they would never normally get and it costs us nowt!!!
(excluding the polo which would cost less than a tenner, a good quality one at that but the perceived value at retail would be £30)

We must make access to this club affordable for most fans, this should not be an exclusive 'executive' club. We should sell this for £20 per month over 10 months, first payment October last July - issue season ticket/membership pass in January and then in July to catch anyone cancelling the DD. Add an under 16 for £6 per month - £16 for OAP's.

What we then start to achieve is enhanced brand loyalty and peer pressure to take up this affordable game day experience - tell me any sporting club encouraging its fans to become so close to their club?

I believe we should target 400 members to the scheme, currently 400 season tickets generate £44k, this would generate £80k with £4k costs and allow us to work with the bar franchise to negotiate prices to benefit our members and ultimately the club.

The next trench of revenue will come from general fans via season tickets, £110 was too cheap, £140 via seven payments of £20 or £130 if paid in full by Christmas is great value to get our team in SL - get rid of the credit card, go back to books and issue the second half book in June - we could still scan the book if need be. Create a family ticket menu - eg 1A + 1U11 child at £150 per annum, spread the cost in the same way as above, Family of 2A + up to 2 u11's at £260, 11-16 'teenager' ticket at £40, 16-18 concession at £70, OAP at £100.

Every U11 ticket holder gets invited to a free summer party with there parents, bbq, bouncy castles, dunk the player, skills games, have their photos taken, autographs, kids entertainer etc

What we must always remember is that we love this club and there are many more like us who will rally behind a vibrant and transparent cause. It is we who must make it happen, the rest will then follow.[/i

I still think a well thought out fans membership at £20 per month would have a great take up and generate a real 'Club Leigh' feel.

There were 2 meals I think before a match ,a I said got told about 1 of them and they were for all TDC members bronze included.I thought at the time there didn't seem many there .

The Centurions have got the LSV to reduce beer prices for next year, dont ask me by how much as it doesnt/didnt interest me, it was told to us at the last LISA meeting by Trevor.

40p per pint , prices fixed before, during and after the games, pies etc are also down by 30 p too and there will be meal deals on too.

They all had to act there with a venue not 20 yards away selling good beer and food, reasonably priced.

The 'Leigh RL match day experience' is not just for 80 mins of Rugby League these days.

The club /LSV /EMC partnership have been painfully slow to realise this and maximise all opportunities.

EMC aren't even catering at the LSV now.

(Nor does Basil spend any time at the club these days Maurice).

Its a good job you're only a women who should be washing and cooking at home Mish, but in July 2011, when it was sent, he was still here. I thought the 'this is what I forwarded last year' may have helped -now get them socks ironed.
