| Its all getting a bit messy, plus people are saying there is a rumour that Marwan is going to sue anyone who has defamed him or libelled him on social media. Only a rumour. So are all the people after money lying about it? One I can believe, but the numbers involved here seem to increase by the day starting with Puletua, Locke and apparently Brad England? See the MEN for the solicitors statement.

| Do we need him? McNally is first team on the sheet for me (literally)...... I suppose we could stick him on the wing, and Higson could provide cover oat Wing / Centre / Second Row

| Suppose it does no harm to have him just in case of injuries with the extra games before the middle 8s. Wouldn't it pee 'big mouth' off though.

| He probably will knowing Marwan! Where would he slot in though? Isn't he an out and out fullback by trade?

| He has close links with Leigh with Cameron pitmans sister being his girlfriend. He regularly watched Leigh this year. On his day he is the best full back in the world. If he has offered to play for us for free, we should snap his hands off! McNally would learn a lot from him while he's with us. Come on Derek, make it happen.

According to Neil Barker though Brierley has signed for Salford about 4 times now, he does seem to make half of what he says up as he goes along. Still possible he'd want to play for someone till he can sort something out for next year, who wouldn't want to be part of this fantastic Leigh team and win promotion to SL?

| I used to love seeing Kevin play for the NZ Warriors,he scored some terrific tries and had lightning speed. Then he got injured and missed a few games, and i think he had some off field issues and just before they signed Sam Tompkins he just disappeared completely.Get him back to where he was a couple of years ago,and you have a very good player.

| I don't see this happening at all, especially not the "for free" part.
We must be at or very near to our Max budget even if there is any room to play on the Cap.
Still, after the numerous 'attacks' on McNally's health by the Seagulls playes yesterday, I can see it would be good to have good cover at FB, if in fact there is any truth in these 'rumours'.

| Personally, I would not swap McNally for anyone, certainly Kevin Locke he would never have survived the assaults on Greg yesterday! McNally is the tops for me!

| Locke wouldn't be number one pick, but nothing wrong with having some cover for McNally you can't keep taking hits the way he has this season, not only in the game yesterday.

| Press conference at Salford tomorrow! Mar telling the truth to the press and fans. Will he announce Locke's contract has been terminated and he is signing for Leigh but he can't play against Salford?

| I can see Wakey recruiting even more for the middle 8's,as I've said before Wakey will potentially be the stronger of the four SL clubs and injury free.

I expect you are right about recruitment but wonder about them being the strongest of the four SL clubs. Predicting injuries or lack of them for an entire club would seem to be impossible.

| Not if your already resided to the middle 8's. Would you play your strongest squad in their remaining fixtures in SL? Which is more important to Wakey at this stage, the remaining SL games,or survival in the SL via the middle 8's?

Smith has not taken that option so far. He needs to develop an effective team and that is only achieved by playing together. His first time in charge showed an improvement and the Cats game he developed the team further. He will want to continue with this. Wakey are not in the same situation as some of the top teams have been in in recent
years when they have been able to rest players from a settled team during the run-in.

| I think the appointment of Brian Smith at Wakefield was a real game changer. Ok he can't work miracles but he will bring some structure and organisation to their play and it might well be enough to keep them clinging onto SL status. I think Wakefield and Salford will still be the sides to aim for in the middle 8's but the bar has been lifted from where it was a couple of months ago.
Things might well change again if clubs pick up a couple of injuries to key men, for instance Widnes without Brown would instantly look much more beatable.
