With regard to the recent contract negotiations I agree that some high end contracts need to be curbed however it seems that we are also trying to curb the salaries of some who were in the low end of the salary scale too. Players who do care about the club and may have been undervalued for some time.

also if you pay out more than what comes in you have a real problem around the corner. Derek paid for his dream, we should not be expecting him to do so again, I would much rather see realism and fans taking ownership of what budget is available by buying ST's. Realistically our income will drop by £1.5-2m based on 4000 gates, we need to cut the expenditure accordingly

Back on topic, I'll be sad to see Sam go. He's a good player, capable of being even better - however, I guess we are not all privy to what goes on at the club.

Also, it's a strange turn of events:

Team gets relegated - contracts become null and void.

Player says to club - "Great, I'm off to look for somewhere better. I don't want to stay here." No fuss made.

Club says to player - "We don't want you to stay. We want to sign someone better" Everyone up in arms!

Like I say, I don't want to see Sam go, but ultimately, void contracts work both ways.

Sorry to see him go, would have been an ideal player to help in our fight for Promotion next season.

He was on my keeper list but more for his potential to be dominant at Champ level than SL. I was dissapointed overall last season. I expected big minutes and strong performances, neither really materialised. I still think he is SL quality but needs to step it up.
Good luck to him and to all who are leaving.
