If he's played running back and line backer, then he certainly can tackle. If I was going to pick any player from an NFL team to try and convert toRugby League, it would be a linebacker.

YouTube shows he has a good tackling technique. Goes right for the ankles aswell as a full on killing tackle

Been chatting with one of the coaches who played with Jermaine a few years ago, apparantly while he was under contract to the NFL, he wasn't allowed to play for us, but they said nothing of other sports, so he played League and Union for the Uni. So it's not like he's got to learn the sport from scratch. Should be interesting if he ends up playing against Wigan in the friendly, i'd definitely go to watch that.

I think it may well be a case of seeing how he looks in training and whether he will be in contention for a spot before making too much of a song and dance about it. Certainly something to look at though.

Hope it works out as I may imagine he's a speedster and his other skill can be honed pretty quickly.

He obviously knows the basics if he's played at University so at least he knows he has to pass backwards lol!

Just watched the link......he can sure tackle and put in the hits, can catch a ball too.

Think we may of found a decent signing here if Rowley thinks his trials go well......got a fair bit of pace also.

With JT and him on the same team the opposition will be drawing straws for who is going to take the ball. I know it's only a few clips but his positional play on those tackles isn't too bad. Would lo ve to see him tackle like that for us. Only queastion is can he do it without all that padding?

I think the padding often gets in the way of good tackling technique as it makes both players quite bouncy, if you see what I mean.

This has got 'Macdonald Bailey' written all over it!! When we played him against the pies it drew a full house at HP - and pretty much paid for the new floodlights they'd just had installed!!

The "padding" is solid plastic, the helmets are very hard, and you've only got foam pads to protect your knees/thighs/tailbone. A shoulder-pad to the knee is incredibly painful. It's a different tackling technique to both league & union, not necessarily better or worse.
