Can't believe Tom Armstrong is being made a scapegoat for one bad pass. He is a class centre-what about the try on half time that should have clinched the match? Having watched the game back I think the real turning point was taking the 2 points at 24-12. Rovers were still rocking at this point, and it looked odds on another try with another 6 tackles. Having said that, hindsight is a wonderful thing............

It is only with hindsight that anybody is saying you should not have taken the 2 points, it pushed the game out to 3 scores, the real issue is that you did not hold on to that lead for whatever reasons.

Rovers took full advantage of the opportunity when the ball went into touch. Not making Tom a scapegoat or even blaming him. I just thought that the game changed at that point. Just an observation. I like many others called for the 2.

The biggest impact on the result was McNally not passing to hock in the play before KR broke, that was a 12 point swing and 30-0 at HT would have been too far
Like Tom, Gregg just executed poorly but I am confident a few players will look at themselves and know what they need to improve on for the next 6 games

we could have scored more points first half.Dixon missed a tackle to leave Dixon v Wilkes wide we turned the ball over on a sixth,kicked on a third,dropped on a second. Armstrongs pass was half way through 2nd half we might have been well clear by then with better application a good kicking game and a fair share of penalties we may have got with the additional pressure.Could,might,if all part of play off rugby we just need to have Reds asking those questions Sunday night

I agree,a poster on another thread stated it was the start of good game management,but we seemed to forget to carry it on throughout the game!

I don't think people are being fickle so much,its always the same after a defeat of this nature,people just point out various aspects of the game which were crucial at the time,i.e. Armstrongs pass,Hock's(who was are best forward) penalties,one or two may be a bit harsh in criticism,but thats born out of frustration.

The only thing i have really seen thats out of order is someone saying we are a team of bottlers,they haven't a clue if they think that.

On to Salford,big test,but a winnable game if we play like we can.

Can't see how taking the 2 points lost us the game! Did taking the 2 make us miss tackles? Did taking two make hull kr get a roll on? Did I eck taking the 2 pushed the game out too 3 scores, we lost the game through our poor performance

Did we not have the chance to take a 2 pointer just before Armsrtong scored too push it to 3 scores?

They would have known the mistakes they made , time to draw a line under it and move on to Sunday's game

As a neutral the game changed when Blair strode through a gap without a hand on him with the full back nowhere in sight on 60 mins. Suddenly Leigh looked very fatigued and to concede two further tries from close range with defenders in attendance was a very un-Leigh lack of aggression/intent.

For me, the difference in the end was a little bit of Super league savvy.

As ex Wire coach Paul Cullen said in commentary, KR were just realising what they can & can't do & sticking to what they know.

Expansive rugby has got us to where we are, entertained everyone in RL Land & brought great plaudits from the press & other clubs coaches who have praised Paul Rowley & the team.

However, I am one of those who have been calling for better ball protection for a long time now.
What I am suggesting is 'Not' that we go away from the expansive game, more adapt & bring in some SL level ball protection & defensive savvy.
Quite often in viewing back a televised game or on Centurions T.V I have noticed how easily teams find an off-load or break tackles & the reason I see most often is not clamping the ball in the tackle or too long to get the 2nd man into the tackle.

Now, I am no coach but I have played at a good amateur level in both RL & RU.
I still have full faith in PR & the team we love & I do believe we will improve in the 8's, but on Saturday at 24-6 up I think we missed a golden opportunity.

My last point, the free play 'try' was just plain bizarre, barmy, still believe it should have been ruled no try & at that point Leigh are still in the game.

The game reminded me of our game against leeds when we was leading 30- 14 and ended up getting beat 30-42 they just wore us down and we were out on our feet and they got a roll on FWIW I would have taken the 2 it pushed to 3 scores
