So if you are going to go to all the trouble and risk of inviting away fans to improve the atmosphere, you want as many potential new Leigh fans in the stadium to witness it, because it is that ( an exciting event ) that will bring them back
You get 5/600 8/9 yr olds all crammed together singing and generally making a racket ( vuvuzelas anybody? ) they will want to return

That's a cracking idea Starbug. Surely there could be a 'Junior Centurions' section of LSV at home games.
In fact I think this kind of ties everything we're discussing. Starbugs making good points that if you're already a Leigh fan, you'd still pay the same to watch Leigh than a SL club. But I also agree that £18 is pricey.
I reckon we need to get the kids in, the stay away fans are gone, if they return that will have to be their decision.
Maybe the Junior Centurions can join the club for £5 and get a Leigh Centurions welcome pack which includes a season ticket, hat, scarf, team photo, I also have another idea for the Junior Centurion i'm going to propose. Get into the schools and get load of the kids in. It's got to be the way forward for the club.
How about if a kid gets a Junior Centurions ticket, they get it stamped when they go into the ground, when they get 5 stamps their parent or guardian can come with them to the next game for free?

Jonny , I mean the parents come with the kids free to selected matches , they are put in the East stand , but the entry is rigorously controled
The junior kids club is an entirely different thing , although if you did what I suggest , I would expect the kids club to expand

| Have you got the contact details of the person who's doing Junior Centurions mish? I'd like to propose some ideas to him and see if I can help out in any way.
You think it sounds like a good idea Starbug?
I think the junior club is the way forward now.
There's got to be a way of getting the teenagers in too, but the only ways I can think of are by getting Leigh East and Miners age groups in the stadium, playing pre game.

| Quote Alan just because fev fans are not moaning does not mean this is a good idea! the same as just because fev are doing it does not make it a good idea?
I want to understand why people think it is and how they see this benifiting the club going forward. hopefully this will make me see the light because i am really struggling at the moment.
Do you think its a good idea? If so as i said to ste have you been through the figures of what would be required to make this a success?
I would be concerned if the PSG were promoting something without understanding the implications of what was required to make this work.
Im not knocking anyones efforts far from it but for any business / ideas to work they need to be challanged and appropriate answers be given to justify the business case.
have you seen the proposal for this idea Alan are you aware of the estimated figures / revenue streams this will create?'"
Alan dont know if you overlooked this but you havnt answered my questions?

Sorry, I'm not ignoring you, but I was out all afternoon and evening - doing something not Leigh Centurions related, for a change! When I got back, there had been rather a lot of activity on this thread.
No, I've not seen any figures related to this initiative. I'm acting as a communicator, on behalf of the club. However, the scheme has the support of people, who ARE/have been successful businessmen.
Am I in favour of the scheme? Yes I am - I believe we have to try something to get people through our turnstiles. I believe there is an element of risk in the scheme, but what business initiatives don't carry risk with them? We can't just sit still and wait for people to attend our matches.
I personally have no objection to trying to attract some extra supporters, by making it cheaper for them to attend, but I can understand why this might upset some Leigh fans, although there are others who will give a chance to a scheme aimed at making things better. Again personally, I have decided to pay more to try to help my club survive and then flourish, in addition to it costing me (not just in time, but financially) to do the things I do at the club. But that's my choice.
I would hope that none of our existing supporters are alienated by this scheme. What we constantly have to aim at, is introducing more schemes, that will help to move this club forward - and if some of those schemes reward our long-suffering fans, wouldn't that be great?
So, please put your ideas/thoughts to an official of the club - you will be listened to and answered.

Every credit for that response, however our inability as a club to upsell any other revenues to these "extra" fans due to all such revenues going to the LSV means this is a hopelessly flawed concept which sadly will, and seemingly already has, alienate what should be our genuine target market - lapsed or new Leythers and those fans without season tickets/Touchdown memberships. This initiative can only drive them further away.

No , no , no
[size=150Free[/size families in the north end of the east stand to selected matches combined with community initiatives but strictly controlled entry , along with as many away fans as you can drag to the match by hook or by crook all placed in the south corner of the west stand
Add any other initiatives you can think of trying for a 4,000 plus attendance
Repeat twice more then send out a cheap family ticket offer to all who attended for 1 selected match later in the season
Repeat year on year

| I would suggest it will only drive away the ones who are not aware of the precarious financial position the club was and still is in. Hopefully some of the ideas on this thread can be acted on next season especially with the extra 6 league games we might be playing.
For this season I personally am willing to grin and bear it

| Alan,
Thanks for your response much appreciated and i value your opinion and the work you are doing.
Firstly, Just because people are successful businessmen does not mean the idea is a good one! we all make mistakes. How many successful businesses have gone bump because off bad decissions!!
I am struggling to understand how people can back an idea and activley promote it when not considering the reward / risk? this can only be done by estimating fugures based on what we hope to achieve. have you done this? I have and it worked out we would lose £440 tonight based on my assumptions?
I to believe we need to try things to get people through our turnstiles however it has to be the right ideas.
Do you not think the majority of our fans will be slighty annoyed that an oposition fan can get in at up to £8 cheeper than them? its not about what you think personally look at it from an average fan who doesnt put the efforts in you do! the reason you put the work in you do is because you are a Leigh fanatic like myself the majority are not !
The club has been promoting #fetchbob for a few weeks now how am i expected to entice people to watch leigh when they now they will be paying up to £8 more than an opposition / other club ST holder? they will tell me to sod of and i would have no argument.
We need incentives to grow our fan base within our community free tickets for kids when accompanied by an adults is a must. Its a family game we need to make it attractable to family in the current economic climate
Free tickets for adults is not the way to go as starbug says you need to have a value on our product however we need to realise people are not stupid and will not pay super league prices for championship rugby!

Completely agree,i don't care one jot what away supporters get in for,or even wiganers for that matter.
If the club thinks its a good idea for this season then so be it.

Free kids with paying adults doesn't work
ALL kids should get in free
Free Families as long as it is rigorously controlled

I would imagine it's to encourage people to pre-purchase which removes the aspect of people deciding not to go to the game once it's raining/TV football game turns out to be a good 'un/overslept etc. Virtually every club in Super League offers a pre-purchase discount (by as much as £4 in Bradford's case) so it's pretty sound reasoning IMHO.
Let's just see how it goes tonight and take it from there.
