Drinkwater is crap most games....unless he has a fantastic kicking game, he is useless. Folk have slated Reynolds, but for some bizarre reason Josh get's away with it....

Agree totally, they wanted it and knew it would set down a marker.
For some reason a lot of our focus seems to be on The Catalan game, This was the match we needed to show up in and play well as it was against (what was) the worst team in SL, we massively underperformed from coaching team to players- worst showing for a very very long time.

Best team won. Our kicking game was dire as were our tackling and handling.

May as well have had a set of traffic cones playing on our right edge for all the defending they did.

too much defence ha ha he only makes about 8 tackles a game and on attack he plays for 5 mins every 20 and that's only if we go down our left channel,not sure about Reynolds but at least he gets involved

I,m afraid ----very afraid. The win over Pies was enjoyable, but we are certs for the qualifiers. I can't see this lot of "journeyman" pros beating any SL opposition or even HKR, London, Toulouse and possibly even Fev. Don't think too many of squad would hang around for Championship???

I don't think Derek would hang around either , in his programme notes for the Wigan game , he stated he has no appetite for the Championship.

If the stats are up to date; Drinkwater 15.2 tackles per game average, Ben Reynolds 24.6. In comparison top of the league Cas; Luke Gale 10.8, Ben Roberts 20.3.

Totally baffled why you wouldn't have had Reynolds on there last night he's been a revelation in the last few games, we looked clueless at times ,and I still don't understand why you would let Riddy Go and then drop Reynolds. I also cannot understand why Widnes are allowed to have that pitch its just crazy when a little ball dink ends up bouncing 14 feet in the air over our winger and full back and then they score. I don't understand why no one at the RFL mention it, it must be awful for players not used to it ,both to know what the ball is going to do and what damage it does to the players ,its about time the RL top brass made them get rid of that pitch then we are all on a level playing field. And to the coach play Reynolds he your only scrum half worth putting on the pitch,you must know that ,if not your blind.

I knew the win against Wigan would give everyone false hope now we calling for coaches heads people need get a grip I said before the Wigan game that's the only one we have a chance of winning that's the worse Wigan team I have ever seen. We had no chance of getting out of bottom four I just hope we holding something back for the middle 8s. Lets all get behind the club instead of calling them they need our support more than ever yet the small minded individuals are slating them

That is because the pitch is not a normal rugby league surface played on by all clubs,no blame on the pitch for how we played last night we were e and Widnes beat us fair and square ,but Widnes have the advantage of knowing how the pitch works which has always given them an unfair advantage over any team that plays them there,and the damage to players is there for all to see,one match I saw the other week there were more bandages on knees than I saw in the Mummy Film.
Surely even you can see that how the ball runs and bounces on that pitch is not normal and makes the game at times like a school playground where you boot the ball and no idea where it will end up. The pitch should be removed and replaced with grass.

well maybe they could have trained on the same sort of pitch at Leigh east in fact the ones at Leigh east are more up to date than the Widnes one but has the same bouncability

Funny how we get these comments when we beat a team, no mention of the pitch when a team turns us over. Not many of those Leigh players were playing on the pitch for the first time, everyone knows what it's like and it's up to the team to prepare accordingly.

By the way, did you know Widnes offer ever club the ability to train on the pitch leading up to a game there? No one takes them up on it.

As posted above,the i pitch only becomes an issue when Widnes win on it.When the opposition win on it,which is often,it's not mentioned.

Pitch is no excuse. We train on one most weeks at Leigh Easts depending on the weather.

What's are excuse all the other times the officials it comes down to confidence and we clearly not going not at the moment the team should of been buzzing after a win over our local rivals but no go back to playing one up rugby and predictable plays when swinging it out wide. If things don't change for the middle 8s we will be back playing 2nd grade rugby again next season. We are carrying to many passengers on a match day and can't afford to do it in the super league. If we manage to stop up I think a change of personnel is need on and off the pitch

I think from watching you last night your halves aren't SL halves. We struggled this year because we lost Mellor and Gilmore pretty much all year (Mellor's first game back in ages last night). Danny Craven came in and played well then he got injured, hence bringing Rangi in but now we're getting halves back, suddenly the likes of Thompson, Bridge, Hanbury etc are looking like top players again due to direction, experience and good play form the half backs. Leigh have some SL players but not where you need them the most!

been saying for a while the halfbacks are struggling and not creating much as well as the worst kicking game in superleague,the only time we look dangerous is off a quick play the ball and our hookers pick up and go,the outside backs are getting slow ball and with them not being the quickest the other teams defences have plenty of time to get back in position to make a tackle

For me, the thread title says it all - currently we are not good enough! With all respect to Widnes- who were BOTTOM of SL up to last night - they have totally outclassed us twice so far. We SHOULD be worried about playing them again - and Catalans, Warrington, Saints, or Huddersfield, or Wigan, plus the leading Championship teams.

Lange & Mortimer had best turn out to be inspired signings, who strike up an instant understanding, and the return of Hock, Higham, Acton & Higson had better return us to something like our early season form!
