That's 8 foreign players, some of them must have EU/Kolpac rights. However, does anyone know the quota rules? Just tried to find it on the RFL website and your given a 250 page book full or jargon! I suppose its good to muddy the waters.
The rules must state that North American players don't count on the quota, as Ryan Burroughs is from the USA.
It wouldn't surprise me if the RFL are bending the rules just to get them in Super League.'"
You're allowed 7 Non-Fed Trained players, the whole EU/Kolpac thing doesn't exist anymore. AFAIK Butler-Fleming is back at York so including Lussick they have the max of 7.
I didn't realise Chase Stanley was there, far too good a player for Championship, has had a horror run with injuries though |

If a Championship club has a Canadian player, do they count on the quota? I would assume they wouldn't, as then Toronto would have an unfair advantage. |

I wouldn't imagine a Canadian/American player would count as Non-Fed, if you had to have a minimum number of club trained and they were all Canadian/American then they'd all count towards Non-Fed |

Section C1:4:2 of the Operational Rules state that Canadian/American/Jamaican (as someone pointed out earlier) don't count as Overseas for Toronto, it also states that you can have a max of 5 Overseas players, which is odd as it's definately 7! |

Widnes have 10, so not sure which players have dispensation there. AFAIK it's got nothing to do with passports, it's whether you're Federation Trained or not |

Burroughs doesn't count as Non-Fed for TW as he's American. Emmitt is Federation Trained (Saints) and didn't someone say Reni had left? |

Burroughs is Non-Fed unless he played in a fed country between 16-20. One of the anomolies of the system that Rowley flagged when Jacks was released. Like Widdop also being non-fed if he was to play over here. |

The fact he's American is of no relevance to non-fed rule, it's which systems he came through and learned the game in that counts. I don't know enough about the player or his history to comment on that.
Canada and UK (And US I suspect) are members of same RL Federation, so have the same pool of players available that aren't part of their non-fed trained allowance. |

That's the overseas quota rule, not the non-fed trained rule. Like I say, I don't know if Burroughs counts as non-fed, my point was the fact he's American alone doesn't exempt him. I think the non-fed rule was brought in because of the number of Aussies coming over with EU passports. |

The issue is they name TW, they state exemption and they state the word "maximum" to that club. Which yes I agree as it states each club can have a max of 5 overseas players,TW's paragraph carries an alternative as "5" isn't mentioned. |
