To be fair 90% of overseas signings at SL clubs probably do the same as in the times we are in they expect a full sponsored training kit to be ready. I guess Kevin has come to terms with the UK SL now or should I be saying European SL !!

It was Richard Agar who kicked the drop goal mate. Came straight after we wasted an almost certain try at the other end when Simon Baldwin kicked through instead of passing the ball out wide when having a massive overlap.

Big problem was getting KH to do anything on the training pitch!

Coaching team - "Right, now we'll do some sprinting". KH "Can't, I've got a bad knee."

Coaching team - "Now for some tackling practice." KH " Can't, I've got a bad shoulder."

General manager - " Here's your pay packets." KH - " No problem mate, my hands are ok!"

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Which players would you have back from the 2005 squad though? I wouldn't have Henderson, bad attitude. Oli Wilkes, John Wilshere, Craig Stapleton....that's it I think, we've re-signed all the other good ones.

You will find that was one year later in 2001! For what its worth some of PT's coaching techniques were by far ahead of the times.

that was the year after when ITV (Yorkshire I think it was)had the show following the whole semi's the one SKY kyboshed and decided they wanted to show other than stupor league

Was it the ITV programme or the channel 5 one when we played Fev (I think) in the playoffs and we were in the old Main Stand changing rooms and they were over the other side when there was a 'power failure' and they had no hot water, lights or leccy.

We were fine 80 yards away!

Err no I'm pretty sure it was the ITV live coverage of that 2000 Gigg Lane final. Bradford's Matthew Elliot was the TV studio pundit that day and he could not believe it either. My Dad still has a copy so next time I am there I will grab it.

However If you think getting the best out of Street, Whittle, Crukshank et al is for them to be filling in clip board's in stony silence then there really is no hope.

Now I don't think Turk was a bad coach at all, we did play an exciting brand of RL no doubt, but the clip boards was one reason why fans were questioning his motivational abilities after 2001 and especially during the latter stages of his tenure.

Rugby League Raw when it was still on ITV. Remember Peter Roe saying the place was falling down. They did a feature on Timmy Street for that game and then he ended up getting sent off
