What's so special about these pies??

They used to be nearly as good as dawsons

Only reason I live where I do is so I am closer to Dawson's

'Eyt a taylors pie, we don't do gravy anymore, but were nearly as good as Dawsons and we use less pepper, but were a sight better than Claphams'

Dawsons Steak Pie No 1 Steak Pie.
Fishers Pork Pies no 1 Pork Pie bar none!

just had a Taylors prayter and meat, the pastry is thicker than it used to be and there aint as much filling in them as there used to be, however my verdict is they are definitely better than the Dawson's ones and on a par with Sergeants

Sorry, but Dawson's are without comparison for the meat pies.

I,ll be in Leigh tomorrow and I shall ask one of the kids to pick a couple up.When I have tasted them I shall post my findings.

Non of these are a patch on Greenhalgh's meat and potato. Dawsons are too sloppy and too much pepper. Used to love it when we used to have Claphams plate meat pie with chips and gravy on saturday watching Jimmy Clitheroe.

Just had 2 for Tiffin------------it,s what we due in the more salubrious parts of Salford. They are better than anything I can get in Manchester but the filling, as already been reported isn,t as substantial as I remember either .I give them 8 out of 10.
