Don't forget it's the LSV, so it's a quid for every Crunchie sold on the day. Maybe all this will be ironed out over the course of the season as a split between Friday's and Sunday's isn't going to work - there needs to be a choice between one and the other and then a proper marketing strategy can be developed from that.

Far from it, it'd just need the opposition and RFL to agree to it. At the minute we're left with three separate matchdays which isn't going to do anything for building up a habit of coming to the games.

| Quote ="Alan"At this morning’s meeting of the PSG, Trevor Barton was asked about the decision to play four home matches (York on 30/3; Featherstone on 22/6; Dewsbury on 13/7; and Halifax on 17/icon_cool.gif on Friday evenings. Here are the facts surrounding that decision, by the Club.
At the time of the Fans’ Forum, the statement about playing home fixtures on a Sunday, was made in good faith, based on the known circumstances, at that time. There was no intention of misleading supporters, let alone ‘lying’ to them, as has been suggested.
- As you know, we will be ground-sharing with Swinton Lions, next season.
- There is a six week ‘time window’ when the pitch is being re-laid, as part of a stadium contractual agreement and, it will not be available to either Leigh or Swinton.
- As a result of the pitch being unavailable, the RFL was unable to devise a fixture solution, whereby Leigh and Swinton home games did not clash. Leigh were offered, at short notice, the opportunity to select their preferred day to play. Friday was chosen, for the following reasons:-
* Corporate sponsors tended to prefer Friday – leaving the weekend free for family activities.
* This is borne out by better sponsorship/box/meal sales for night matches. Contrary to popular belief, the Club DOES benefit significantly, from such ‘corporate’ match day sales.
* The players welcome the occasional weekend ‘off’, to be with their families.
* The team could potentially gain some advantage, in terms of recovery, from playing on Fridays – where the following week’s opposition has played on the Sunday.
* Leigh will get first use of the pitch, on weekends where fixtures clash.
There is a recognition, at the Club, that some supporters are unfortunately going to be inconvenienced by the match day changes, but it is hoped that this will just be for a ‘one-off’ season.'"
This doesn't add up as Swinton are playing all their home games Sunday so surely we should changed two and they should have changed two. ![Twisted Evil icon_twisted.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_twisted.gif)

All that does is highlight how cheap it was last year to watch the best team we've had in recent years.
Prices HAD to go up. Its business. What does that price increase average out at? About a pound a week?

Spot on with that Jimmy, last year's prices were a steal and were never likely to continue unless they were backed in HUGE numbers.

Erm, no it isn't - £13.64 per game for a Leigh season ticket (£150/11 home games) versus £13.16 per game for a Latics season ticket (£250/19 home games). I know Latics have cheap season tickets by comparison, but that is a little concerning to me.

| I still think the LSV/Wigan Council, themselves have had something to do with this.
However we have to play these games Fridays now and well see what it brings, Ill be there.
Cant see many from Yorkshire though, making it over on Friday night and Halifax would have been one of our chances of a good crowd and decent away following had we played Sunday.

I would expect the Fev and Halifax home games to switch to the Thursday anyway.

Because United have a £600m debt to cover, not even close to a valid comparison.

Bolton is £285 for a season ticket so £15 per game. Hibs is £400 although Edinburgh is like London in terms of price inflation (£3+ a pint even in local pubs etc).

| So our prices aren't are not very high, in fact they are the going rate, and considering we are paying back debts from last season this year, next year they may be able to do a better offer.

| I don’t think we can compare us to football, whether its correct or not buying a season ticket in football feels good value (if you’re into it), because of the total number of games available to you, even if you miss one or two, you still feel it was worth while. With us we play so few games and because it’s over summer you tend to miss more due to Holidays, family days out etc, without more of a personal financial incentive then the attraction doesn’t appear as great.

Dissapointed to read that Alan,i was hoping the club would really push Fridays, long term.
