a little bit of advice for the LSV ,when looking at the draft fixtures next season note dates of all cup competitions and always presume both us and Swinton could be still in them each round and do not book functions on the dates of these comps , then we can choose what day we want to play .

The biggest mistake and trap you are all falling into here is comparing any kind of normal day to day business with the operating of a sports club and in particular a semi professional RL team. Partnerships mean both parties need each other equally LSV need LC and visa versa and if the relationship is to be a successful one both parties will at times give ground and be flexible to each others needs unlike a conventional business relationship were the customer is always right mentality should always apply.

We have had to travel to your side of the Pennines many times more than Yorkshire clubs go the other way over the years and frequently get stuck in traffic jams.I went to a party at Huddersfield last week and left at 6.15 and was there for 7.00, its the luck of the draw mate motorway driving.

Poskitt by the way is daft making a meal out of this, if you lot do bite and it causes bad feeling which it is, there are enough nutters who will make the most of this and thats not whats needed.This to me is a massive storm in a teacup, where both sets of fans really want a Sunday game and you are seeing something whats not there by the statement the players prefer Friday kick off,I bet Fevs would as well if it gives them more time to recover for the next game.

Maybe we (Fev) as a club see an advantage in making it difficult for Leigh by stirring thinks about the game being played on a Friday. Personally I don't see it this way, all this can do get the fans backs up and we have seen where that leads to in the past.

If we must by all means complain to the RFL and let them make the final decision, but to go on about it in the public domain just makes us all look daft.

Maybe I am mistaken (I have been wrong before

) as I’ve always thought business is business, regardless of the type of industry, manufacturing, service, entertainment, etc. Never been able to get my head around why people think Sports clubs are different.

IMO LSV is like my transport agent, they provide a service to its customers, for which they receive payment.

Of course good customer supplier relationships need a bit of give and take, but LSV should know its customer(s), and have known that taking another booking on the Sunday of the next round of the CC was potentially going to cause major issues with one if not both of its major/regular customers.

Looks to me like they just didn’t care, unless of course LC and Swinton, had already agreed to it.

Just to be clear so far

my gripe is with LSV

LSV, Leigh Centurions & Swinton are all separate entities. Leigh are taking several Reserves fixtures 'on the road' this year. These games are usually played on the LSV Complex. This is being done for the long term 'greater good' of the game locally. I'm sure Leigh haven't gone to the LSV management asking if this is OK to do, same as I'm sure LSV don't come to the Leigh BoD when someone wants to book an event. If you remember last season when we played the NRC Semi Final the Banqueting Suite was being used for a college Prom Night. I don't remember all this fuss back then.

The various fairs are held in the Sports Hall so parking would be the problem on a match day.

We have 'clashed' with many a fair on a match day, they are usually over by 1pm, and if they are not the stewards usually direct all traffic onto the car park behind the North Stand until the South car parks are clear, (we are normally at the LSV by 12.30 on a match day)

This one is 9.30 - 4.30.

A relative has been to the LSV today to book the legends bar for a function in September. They were told that they could book it but would have to cancel it if Leigh were at home in a play off game.

Just to clarify the point, I was actually supporting your argument, and refuting the points of a number of Leythers, that Fev have probably played at ours as many times in midweek, as we have at yours, in recent years. In other words, it just isn't right that we are always being put on.

Exactly, so why can't we play on the Sunday when the 'small function' is on? For what it's worth I'm not bothered which day it's on but I don't like being lied to.
