That wasn't the point I was making. We may have spent the same money as last year but it was clearly not enough - compared to Barrow for example and no doubt others. Then suddenly we have the money to sign a few decent players and a coach. I know we have the new consortium or whatever their name is that came midway through the season which has contributed to that.

No there wasn't much in it at all! But if you scored more points / conceded less you wouldn't of gone down is all! Maybe few more BP's etc!

Couldn't care less about Gateshead - see no reason why they should get favourable treatment in the rules.

Would have had some sympathy with Batley - although, no disrespect to them, they are a mid-table Championship side at best with limited potential for fanbase - it would not be as devastating for them as it is for us. We should be a top 3 Championship side pushing for a Super League place (although not quite getting there!)

not only Batley but most of the clubs in the championship couldn't get a SL liciense on the grounds of there stadiums are rubbish & worthy of the SL at least Leigh would have had the foundation for that one! you only really have us, widnes, sheffield who have adequate grounds!

doncaster too cos of the footy but i didnt mention them cos they'll stay down for abit due to administive reasons but yeh there ground is the best by a mile!

most of champion 1 clubs will feel the loss next year as leigh are one of best supported clubs away from home and i dont think followers of the toulouse and batley will bring the same sort of support

we'll teach Blackpool a lesson next season after this seasons pre season friendly that the young lads tried out we'll welcome them to the big boys now

You know that, I know that, but even the RFL don't realise it when it comes to Overseas' player allowance rules ('Super League = 5; Championship [size=1501[/size = 1; Championship[size=150 2 [/size= 2)

Would like to know their reasoning behind that Alan,only one i can think of is to hinder the championship clubs

i mean you would think that the champ clubs could afford 2 overseas more than champ 1 ,its very odd to say the least.

Its to make sure that Gateshead and Toulouse get as much help as they can to get a licence and the last team will be the team who have managed to survive the best

Reasoning? RFL? I haven't a clue, but perhaps it goes something like this:-

Championship clubs (or Championship 1, as per the RFL) - To protect them from over-spending.

Championship 1 (or Championship 2, as per the RFL) - To allow them more scope to attract players, as there aren't enough British ones to go round. Hopefully, they'll be able to attract 'cheap' imports - who, of course, won't qualify for a visa, thereby saving the Championship 1 clubs (or Championship 2, according to the RFL) from over-spending.

Then, of course, there are the Championship and Championship 1 clubs (or Championship 1 and 2, according to the RFL) who can have limitless overseas' players, because they have pots of money, no access to 'local' talent, and don't seem to need the same visas as anyone else.
