Well I was in the South Stand tonight and on on a day when we was all supposed to get behind England, all you could hear was anti Wigan songs and the flute song.

What an embarrassment that our stadium have to send out an an announcement to stop our own fans using foul and abusive language.

Shame to the posters who keep saying the 'flute song' is a harmless.

So it was only leigh fans, and no other clubs in RL sing we hate w"£$n

The majority was clearly Leigh fans, stop trying to justify your own poor behavior on a few other idiots from other teams.

Of course it was tool...........

The only 'tools' was the ones singing the flute song at an England match

Picked up on this as well from the East stand. I really despair sometimes its England playing for goodness sake.

Well I was in the North Stand and did n`t hear that particular song.... maybe my ears are on back to front.

Maybe they are because plenty other people did!

Selective hearing from some folks/trolls.......

Surely

the PA announcement is a standard message/reminder..........

made at every rugby league game as a matter of PR
like all MAJOR sports
such a message will be relayed through the game, and in the programmme too (one would expect)

irrepsective of the stadium

or are you saying a set of supporters go to support the national team and offended....

So you didn't hear or join in the "England, England, England" chant or "We love you England" chant or the number of other chants that went around the ground in support of our country?

I didn't hear any bad language or the flute song being sung, the only Leigh related chants I heard during lulls during the game were the comical chants of "I'd rather be a pasty than a pie" and the Mick Nanyn song.

Sad that the crowd was so low, okay there was a footie match on later but the first RL international at Leigh for how long got less that 6K???

Official crowd was 50 short of 8000 - pretty good considering the other thing thats going on.
There was quite a large Leigh support which was excellent considering we are not in the Stupid League and had no representatives in the side. Didn't see many Fax shirts

Quoted as 5,698 on Sporting Life which was a bit of a surprise, expected 7,000+ and didn't hear an announcement at the game.

Despite the 'club' chants (not just Leythers, I might add), that was actually by far the most supportive atmosphere for an England side in years.

Crowd figure was announced and put on the screen in the corner of the South stand.
it was 7943 within 10 or so as I can't remember it exactly.

Quite honestly I thought it was a poor crowd for an International. Apart from Leythers there where quite a lot of Wigan fans.

For me yesterday was about supporting England and showcasing the LSV and welcoming other Rugby League fans from whatever club. The East stand looked fantastic in the sun, a sea of red and white and practicly full (pity the cameras were aiming at the two-thirds full West stand). It was taster of what the ground could be like with a successful Leigh team

I go to most of Leigh's matches and Leigh supporters are second to none but some of the chants are now changing from supporting Leigh to baiting opposition supporters. I just couldn't see the relevance of the anti-Wigan chants yesterday at an England game.

This is the forth match were there has been some adverse comment on some of the Leigh fans behavior. We can keep ignoring it until some incident occurs were some one will get hurt or we can get the chip off our shoulder about Wigan and Super League and concentrate on what we can have control of.

but Jasper the flute song is harmless, racism is ok and foul language is to be heard everywhere.

Until we learn we will alienate support and gradually die.

7951 if I remember correctly. And to be fair, the attendance for an international game reflects all on all English RL fans, not just those in the town in which it is held.

I'll get it in before some other idiot does, the 2k discrepancy between sporting life and 7951 is obviously a tax fiddle by Leigh
