When you have someone on a big contract and do not want to risk an unfair dismissal claim best to promote that person to a job which is even more challenging than the last one he could not do.

Didn't really make much sense this Frank but wanted to pick you up on something. Widnes did not move Paul Cullen upstairs, Paul spoke to the club when he returned from compassionate leave to express his concern that he didn't want the pressure of coaching for the forseeable future after a very tough year. Widnes accepted this request but wanted to keep Paul at the club due to what he can offer.
For what it's worth, Widnes have employed a knowledgeable, English coach with alot of potential. Reports from Gloucester is that they didn't want to lose him, so I'm very pleased. Of course he's not won anything, he needs the chance first. |

I wouldn't bank on it , that way of thought might come back and bite you on the bum.Nothing is concrete in this game i hope he doesnt pull out for your sake and your fans.

This is boring now, I guess Leigh without Thomas would be well as in an average place as you are now?
Best supported and biggest name in the division yet we are the ones at risk without a backer? Think it through for petes sake it's laughable!
No one will say we wouldn't be where we are now without SO'C but to act like Widnes would be in a mess whereas other clubs would be fine is just stupid! |

Cullen talks bollox , Betts might turn out a decent coach , anybody who thinks Widnes made an actual ' trading ' profit of 1 million a year after making a million loss is a loon of the highest order
