Should be a good game but i cant help thinking fev will run away with it,they still look a much stronger team than you.

Apparently they have a few injuries & down to 3 props. Very close games last year, have lost Briggs and if Allen & Finnigan fully fit I'd expect us to be on top tbh. As you say should be a cracker though!

Just to cheer you up I think Widnes will beat Fev tomorrow.

I also think our result on March 10 will raise a few eyebrows.

New Ropati,Finnigan,Tyrer,Leuluai,Sculthorpe,Lunt and as you say Gaz Haggerty and Chaz I,Anson are like new signings as did not play much last year with serious injuries.With abit of luck some more good youngsters may get their chance like jack Owens,Gore,and Alex Brown.

I hadn't but I have now as have 2 others.

Fancy Leigh to go well but fade towards the business end of the season and Widnes to do the opposite.

I think our squad is to strong for us to fade this season,its more a case of is there any teams out there stronger than us.
I'm a little surprised no one has voted for barrow yet.

Leigh are stronger
Widnes are stronger
Fax are a little weaker
Barrow will have a new coach in 2 months time.
Fev are the same as last year but.......will face far stiffer opposition this year

Fev are still a good squad but they have lost their best player. Barrow do not appear to have strength in depth and Fax too have lost key players. Widnes ? well they can't be considered as effectively they know they have two losses before the season starts.



With our current set up I think we will win the league comfortably provided we do not have too many injuries.

Really? I think Leigh have improved depth a bit with the likes of Ellis but any added real quality in the first 13? Plus losing some good DR (looks like Blythe for a while). See a good season but not a title one.

Though can never really tell until face a top side, as with us tomorrow!

Well I am biased but I know our pack is special plus we have options at half back (several infact). Our backs too are better than for a few seasons. Having said that I have not seen Widnes play yet or Fev or Barrow.

that starting 13 got us to 3rd in the table.

What you have to remember is out of that starting 13,both our half backs were carrying injuries and the 4 DCs were constantly being called back.

Agree with the injury comment. We will have a very strong 17 when everyone is fit and we do have strength in depth in a lot of areas, but we do also have a few weak areas. Front row looks ok at the moment, but will look a lot better if Haggerty and Sculthorpe can get fit. The only real area for concern is half back - we have no-one who has any kind of kicking game and do rely a lot on Thackeray to get us going. I think almost all Widnes fans agree that the jury is still out on Thomas Coyle at scrum half and everyone is praying that Chaz I'anson will be a decent player when/if he gets fit. No 9 shirt is also open to question, but Kirk Netherton is looking better the more he plays and youngster Lunt looks lively enough to come on from the bench. Any injuries to Netherton or Thackeray and we would be short for class / experience in their positions as would any more injuries to props.
