I understand all that, and that’s why I said my numbers may be out, as I don’t know how much the club actually gets from gate receipts, but I could counter argue that the more home games we play is even more income, were as using the LISA calculation as a match average would be reduced, but that’s just playing at sums.



The main thing is how do we get more people to LSV/increase revenue, if we already have someone great, tell them to pull their finger out and get on with it.

If we don’t, would it be in the interest of all concerned for LISA to employ someone to do it?

The main focus of the club should be not just to get more ' bums on seats ' , it should be to fill the stadium , yes that is correct , I said

Fill the stadium

Until the stadium is full for every game the club is underachieving

Now the 1 st part of that will hopefully start with a return to attractive attacking RL under our ' new ' coach

Then you have to get the people of the town in to see it

Then you need to convince enough of those people that they have been entertained and get them to want to pay to be entertained again

Much as I agree with you Glow , Just having a ' person ' to market the club is a waste of money unless that person has a budget to spend , both in actuall cash but also in the ability to get who they want where they want for them to be entertained

As usual , Money is the key and if you were to start to use LISA money to try to achieve it , the money given to Lisa would start to drop

AT was stood outside the stand near the exit and fans obviously approached him questioning what's going on and looking for answers etc etc, and considering AT had invested a lot more than anyone else he was rational calm and hid his own I'm sure disappointment trying to answer all the fans that had surrounded him their questions about what was going on without any sign of wanting to get away. The ones that was there will vouch about this.
What a tremendously nice genuine man he is, and all the more reason to take some of that monetary burden away from him by contributing in whatever way you can. The man is going that extra extra mile, by giving the fans what they want - Ian Millward with a very competitive squad.

Glamour is actually not a bad word for it if you go back to its original usage of 'a spell that makes unattractive people good looking'.

Please dont get confused with the 2 separate issues here

One is the off field performance of the club , ie income via supporters , sponsorship and the like

The other is on field performance , which is not an exact science and in reality you dont have as much control over as most would like

Unfortunatley many people assume that success in the second one will automatically improve the first one , which is not always the case

However more often than not improving the first will result in an improvement in the second

your probably right i do get confused by some things said on here

but if we go back to milwards first stint here and then terzis we played better rugby year on year and the gates from 1,000 approx to over 3,000 and then the slump came again

Cant see it Widnes, Fax and Barrow all have better teams and theres 3 or 4 teams on level par with us, so unless we bring in 3 or 4 SL quality players, I can see us being average.

To answer your question from my point of view:-

As a LISA and Lottery member, I try and help the club in a way I can afford,I stopped buying a national lottery ticket and buy one of our club every week instead and Ive been a LISA member for years.

What orginally attracted me to join was one of their "dos" they had which I attended and saw the benefits like the chance to meet the coach and players and understand how my £5 help us afford Adam Bristow etc.
In the early days LISA was much bigger and stronger, but since the club acheived reaching SL things have been on a downward spirral.

I try my upmost to get more members and its hard in the current climate we are in, but every penny LISA earn goes to the club for players.
aS ANOTHER POSTER has said AT cant fund this on his own, mwe need more fans through the turnstiles and more members of LISA or the Corporate Club to bring more quality players in.


I will be meeting the coach in the next couple of days to try and get him to help us try and gain more members and its in his best interests to help as he knows the more money we riase the more he has to spend.
If this doesnt help people understand why we need more members then I dont know what else to suggest.

As a member of LISA The Watcher would encourage all Leigh fans to join,however ,the moment any of LISAs funds went to pay a non playing member of staff is the moment The Watcher would stop being a contributer.
Oh and one more thing,a message to glow.....do not suggest a rule change when you are not even a member.

Anser this question picture this scenario, A club official comes to a LISA meeting and asks for £50K or else a creditor will wind the club up and asks can LISA donate £5K (if they had it), are people really saying that LISA wouldn't assist financially and see the club wound up?

Read what I put as a committee member please. If members wanted to vote for a different way their money is spent then if a majority decided that they wanted to employ someone to market the club, then thats what would happen, however I suspect we,d lose half of our members.

Well please reconsider as we go with what OUR members want and new isssues have to be voted in by the majority of members.
