Just my luck I i'm away that weekend! Hope it comes off though, would be great to get plenty of support up there for the lads.

There are awful road works on the A1 around Gateshead which are scheduled to end around that weekend I think. Will check next Tuesday when Im back on the A1 but we could need plenty of time to get their!

This is in danger of being half baked.

Unless its pushed a bit more publically (and I havn't seen the Journal yet) then two scenarios are probable;

Too many buses and not enough fans knowing about free travel.

Not enough buses and too many fans not getting a slice of the action.

Dipping a toe in and hoping 'it'll be reet' with end up annoying one or the other. The club need to commit to 5 buses minimum to get the ball rolling and start giving the seats away first come first served to generate interest from both fans and sponsors; the cost of the buses will then be met. I am sure.

Sticking a finger in the air and hoping for a call, won't work.

They are to be advertising it via programme, big screen, papers in the coming weeks.
If we get 10 sponsers to donate 100 pound each that 3 free coaches , so it all depends on how many sponsers they can get.

I'll gaurantee that if we rely on what's been published so far, the majority of the townsfolk won't know there is free travel available and we'll end up just taking 3 coachloads, 1 of which would have paid via Lisa anyway.

I have relaid this info to friends who knew nothing about it ,not everyone has a computor and not everyone gets the journal either ,they should stick some posters up around town .

With common sense answers like that you have no chance of working for the LSV or the RFL

It's not in the Journal it was released too late after the local paper dealines, and like Derek said theres nothing to tell people as yet.
Posters won't do anything who reads them anyway? there are so many fly posters about.
Th RL press is the place with a contact number for anyone wanting to go to ring, but you cant make the two trade papers carry the story and advertising it would probably cost more than the coaches.

Announce it at the next home game, tell local pubs etc... word of mouth.

We (LSV) have the biggest advertising billboard in the borough, use it.

True but that wasn't what I was replying to. I am sure they have/are contacting the full list which they no doubt have on their database.

Rather than trying to find local businesses to cough up the funding to pay a bus company, couldn't you just cut out one person, or would it be too obvious for the club to approach some bus/coach companies to sponsor buses (ie. let you use them for free)?

On a sunday in August? busiest time of the year for them.
