Have to agree. The crest is on there but very vague, and only showing part of it in a light grey on a white background. Looks like an unfinished design to me.

Apoligies had to go back and have another look, I was looking at the position I would expect the "Crest" to be over the left breast, on that respect I would have been happier to have them swapped around.

Incidently I may be in a minority but I do not think that our name has a great deal of relevance today, I could understand it at the time of its origin as the club and indeed the game had just celebrated its 100th biirthday, this next season we could be the 1.23 Centurions.

But the branding name is relevance and to change that would be a costly outlay. You're not really going to go and buy a scarf or pint pot from the market stall with nothing on it.

Then again we could always revert to the Comics or Bears.

Should have ditched it late 90's too late now just need to develop the brand further, no need to be on the shirt though. LBnB coat of arms over the heart with Leigh Centurions printed under it, like Wiggin do.

Yet its not on Wiggins shirt, and the Warriors brand is more well known than ours. LBnB coat of arms with letters under it 'Leigh Centurions'

Even the Grandchilder go and watch 'Leigh' - Never has anyone said to me they are going to watch the ' Centurions'. Not even the kids.

Do we even have a junior Centurions club? If the young ones do not recognise it and the club are not prepared to fully embrace it then I fail to see the point of continuing the Moniker in all honesty.

It could just be used as nickname in 'Leigh RLFC - The Centurions' in the same way it as 'Everton FC - The Toffees' or 'West Ham FC - The Hammers' or 'Leicester City FC - The Foxes' , I am sure you get the point.

You fail to see the brand H. You only see Leigh,you have drilled that into your child and their children's minds.
From a media point of view we are the Centurions,from a merchandising point of view we are the Centurions.

Its not a case of a nickname,it sells the club. The same way it sells season tickets.

From a heritage point of view, home kit should have been some kind of coalminer/pitman ensemble, complete with hobnail boots.

Away kit could be a breasted suit type kit, to show we scrub up well on a Sunday afternoon.

Quite correct Harold now you mention it, i have never heard referance to "are you going to the centurions" it is useually "are you going to watch Leigh" or colloquially "R't goin watchin Leyth"
To answer atomic, no we do not want the bears, and the comics was never a registered name.
I agree, the Leigh crest on tge left breast with LEIGH RLFC under and if need be 'Centurions' under that without the daft Roman Soldier.

Do you really believe that the Centurions logo sells the merchandising, and if we had another moniker we would have less support and seaso ticket sales and shirt sales, and mugs, and Keyrings etc etc.

The club have never marketed centurions effectively. The town, the club and the sport drives the brand. Irrespective of silly moniker in Leigh RLFC or not.
