I am another who finds the above slightly alarming to be honest.

By all accounts we have spent heavily assembling a squad to finish in a potentially mythical 'Top 2'.

The lads can only train and plan for what is definitely in front of them. A 'top 2' position finish, meaning a Grand Final place is a reasonable target with the squad they are assembling.

Were they not supposed to be discussing this, immediately after the World Cup?

Given the recent developments at Bradford ( we now have last years ' saviour ' Omar Khan announcing he will be taking legal action to recover ' investement ' in the Bulls which would effectively force them into administration ) the discussions have suddenly got more complicated

I understand that the new league structure will be eventually accepted, the dispute is to do with governance rather than the new proposals.

What I am unsure of, is will the 'top two' who share money with the bottom two from next year's SL be decided based upon the league table or the play offs? As SL prize money is usually allocated based on the latter.

I wouldnt count anything as ' read ' , at this moment we have no idea what we are playing for

My understanding is that the 'top two' would be the Championship Grand Finalists. (who theoretically could be the 7th and 8th placed teams in the league

So a t least two play off wins are required, more than we have had in a number of years. Tough challenge but the team assembled is more than up to the job. For several reasons our attentions were mostly off field this year, I can't wait for next season to roll around and to be able to sit back and enjoy the greatest game!

And, until this format was suggested, most of we Leythers would have settled for ONE play-off win!
