| I couldn't resist.
Would you contribute to a fan owned club on top of what you already pay? And if so how much?

| I've gone for the £10-£20 option as that is all I can afford at the moment. Hopefully I will be able to increase this when personal finances allow.

| I also selected £10- £20 but like many others, I also do the lottery and LISA. So would it dilute funds already going into the club?

| 500 fans @ £15 is £90k pa, 100. @ £40 is £48k pa that means a very successful club when you add in business contributions

| I went for the £10/20 pm. This needs to be put to the wider audience ,there could be many more interested who don't come on the forum .

| Well as I am lucky enough at my age to have a couple of grand spare in the bank doing nowt, I have gone for the £40+ option as a fans owned Leigh rugby is totally something I can buy into. Also,
Would I hand that over as lump sum to Sporting Club Leigh as it is currently set up? Emphatically no as it would be soaked up in a Mr Freer and Mr Coffey's budget shortfalls every year in debt.
Alternatiely would I use it as an 'investment' in a new fans owned club to secure a new future of the club I love and give me a sense of 'ownership? Very much so.
And finally, did I pay £18 to be ripped off and fleeced against an amateur side in the cup ? Did I balls..
The last answer was just for my owd mucker Charlie Carolli

Good afternoon Harold , hope you are well ?Its good to see you are ready and willing to support our Club , as i also am , there is however only one L in Caroli , im one of the Napoli Carolis , being Charles Eusabio Peroni Caroli .
I agree with your statements totally except maybe the £18.00 rip off part , though i respect your views , and opinions ,if we all thought the same way , it would be a very Boring life , and i never think of myself as a Sheep ,keep your Posts and views coming , its always good to hear from you ,Charlie . .

| Depends which way you look at it. A lot of those will be people revisiting the same thread to contribute or see the results.
Another way to look at it is 82% of leythers would get involved.

| Of the 6 who voted NO there's every possibility that they're fans of other clubs, including the one on the Northwest coast.

To be fair Bart I voted no because at this moment in time I cannot afford the outlay, I do contribute to LISA monthly though. As for other teams fans voting that is plain wrong if they had. Hope it's a success though.

Fair point. I wouldn't have been able to contribute 12 months ago with a baby on the way and the incertainty over my job with virgin trains, just circumstance for different people at different times, we all love the club the same.

Isn't one of the thoughts that as well as the regular investor that fans like yourself could have shares purchased as a one off's as Christmas/Birthday presents etc.
Certainly better than that frigging Skydiving thingy at the Trafford Centre that I got.

| But 1500 people havnt voted on the poll. I think the forum is where you will get more people that are hard core fans willing to donate than anywhere.
This negative can't do attitude has to go.
500 people is the figure I keep working on. I think that's a realistic figure.
500 people contributing £20 PCM is £120,000
I think I'm wide awake, I think it's time a few others woke up mate.

| I voted no to contributing because I would need to see who was elected to the board before I parted with any cash. Therefore I wouldn't initially join in but if I was happy and confident with those selected I might then consider it.

| You said 82% of leythers. IMO a "fan owned" club in RL would not work. Remind me how many there are.Why didn't Bradford or Crusaders or Salford go down this route? Where are Rochdale who have been supporter owned for a while? They have actually gone backwards. If it goes that way, just like fans have withdrawn support now cos they don't like Trevor, then fans will withdraw support cos they don't like the elected board under fan ownership. Just because someone's opinion is different to yours doesn't make it negative.

I appreciate your comments but assuming that we don't get a White Knight to pump money into the Club then what is the alternative way forward to ensure the future of our Club?

| Initially getting the budget right. This would give a point to move forward from. Playing in a competition that allows progression earned on the field and not only in the pocket. The competition bit is obviously not something the club has control of. Having fans that support the local club and not fans that won't come because x is in charge. By the way the same thing would happen with a fan supported club.
We have to be ready for when the rules change.
I have noticed that there are one or two people on here who have been against the make up of SCL ever since they took over. There belongs are nothing more than personal grudges and are of no constructive use in the business world.
If the club had the top level to aim for or even the chance of playing in the second 10 of a 20 team sl comp with p&r then I think investors (not white knight) would be easier to find.
Other than those views i have no idea. Sorry one more thing....of the inactive shareholders there are at least 2 who I would love to see return to add knowledge and enthusiasm to the fight

It's the 'and then you woke up' that winds me up.
Rochdale taken oven in 2009 after bankruptcy:
2009: 8th from 10 teams
2010: 5th from 11 teams
2011: 4th from 10 teams
2012: 5th from 10 teams
'gone backwards'?
Why didn't Bradford, Crusaders and Salford go for fan ownership?
I don't know. Neither do you.
Also, if you read the very first part of the other thread I didn't say this was what I wanted yet.
