A serious question for you Ian - do you think w**k is any better (or don't you think you just read the word anyway, therefore you might as well write the word in full)?

We've had this debate on LeighLife many times and we don't allow any swear words (with asterisks or in full) on the main boards, apart from bloody. bugger etc because we think if someone writes 'w**k or f**k they might as well just write the full word, and we have children to consider.

We do however have an adult section where anything (and I mean anything) goes.

Exactly the sort of response expected from j.c., a childish attempt at deflection , blaming my " sensibilities" for his vile, inappropriate comment.

The adult response is a simple apology

j.c., I wasn't asking or expecting an apology from you , I was simply stating that was the correct adult response. We all make mistakes, errors of judgement but adults apologise and we all move on.

I'm just following the rules of this site which allow these words. Our site is different and I would expect people to follow those rules too, just as I do.

And by the comment 'we have children to consider' I meant that on our site we realise that children use it and therefore we prefer not to allow swearing on it. It's not my fault this site has different rules.
