| Quite a few people would be unable to attend Sat/Fri evening games , so that is going to be a big factor in any decision, were as most of the fans screaming for 6pm on Saturdays seem to want it to fit in with their boozing programmes

| I think the vote should be put in a way that emphasis is not on personal preference as such but on pointing out the possibilities of getting more people going. The vast majority that go regular will go whether it be Fri/Sat/Sun. I think Sat 6:30-7pm doesn't half offer the club something extra to promote games.
Would be interested to know how W1gan approached their change. ie Did they just do it, or had a vote?
If club does give a change a chance it does need to be given time. Our trouble sometimes is for whatever reason ideas when done seem half hearted

| I wish the RFL would make clubs play on one given day and time depending on TV. That way the media will have a clue when a RL game is going to be played.

I do remember there being disapproval for the idea at the time, but now the position is completely reversed and people are disappointed with non-Friday games.
I'd personally prefer Saturday evening games as, being a football fan as well, I'm sometimes left to make a choice of whether to go to the football or the rugby on a weekend and leave one day free for quality time with the family, sure it must be similar for others who watch football etc.

| Problem with this survey is that I bet most replies have come from existing fans, most of which will attend whichever day / time we play. The reason for the survey should be to see how we can get more fans therefore we would need to ask folk away from this forum - it would need a week or two's research outside ASDA & in the town centre Thurs/Fri & Sat. We should ask:-
a) Do you watch Leigh?
b) If the answer is no, is it due to Sunday KO's and would you attend if it could be moved to a different day / time?.
This would be the only worthwhile excercise.
The only other way would be to test one against the other against similar opposition in similar conditions e.g. Batley & Dewsbury but this could now only happen next season and we may be missing an opportunity.

| Good call that. Personally the time of the games doesn't have any bearing on when I can go to games. It's all on whether i'm working or not.

That's the exact same with me as well jonny, i work every other weekend so it wouldn't make much difference to me either way.

Actually 'people over 50' would probably say 'It was always Saturday afternoon.' Friday night would always mean clashing with either Wigan or Saints.

| Friday nite is no good as its too tempting to just stay in or go to pub and watch SL game - especially when its dark and -9deg early in season. Plus getting W1gan/Wire/Saints fans watching odd game should be a aim too.

surely, the idea of a change of day is to get MORE people there, like the lapsed fan, and, sorry to say, that is NOT going to happen if you go head to head with S /L on sky
lets look at it from mr average's point of view...........
big game on the telly friday night, or 16 gold coins to watch sheffield at the LSV?
let me throw another scenario into the mix...........would 1pm on sunday work, so the fans have most of the day to go about other business?? no one whinged at the earlier K O for the keighley game when we got caught up in ponseball.

| if somebody could explain what the fascination is about playing on Friday evenings, i shall be delighted to listen, to me its possibly the worse time imagimable to lay a game, away fans, well we don't get alot now, we get even less playing on Friday, like has been said SL already have the SKY game, plus numerous others, i am under 50 and i hate having to go to watch my club play on a friday, sunday is best IMO. I notice with interest that Leeds, are going to play all their non SKY games on a Sunday, interesting as by all accountsd its FACT that more peole go to a Friday game, leave it as it is, the people who do not come now will not suddenly say, hey they are playing on Friday, lets all pile down tot he LSV, who ever thinks thast is living on a different planet to me.

i dont think we have that many lapsed fans tbh,we've always averaged around the 2000 mark.with the odd exeption, the terzis years wernt bad, what we need is new fans.
the hardcore will turn up anyday of the week but atracting new fans is proving difficult.so perhaps evening games are the future..we wont know if we dont try.
as for the sky game played at the same time,do you not think people will record the game and watch it at a later time?

How many people can be ar8ed watching the majority of SL games (Hull v Harlequins, Catalons v Wakefield etc etc)? Does live SL keep the thousands of drinkers in on a Friday night? They can record it by the way and most people have a facility to do so these days.
I think our attendances are more likely to be affected due to a family day out on a Sunday than a live SL match on Sat evening. What people forget is that one of the biggest clashes for us is that youngsters play on a Sunday morning and does stop some folk attending our games due to either being out all morning or getting back late from away games etc. FACT - I know of a few people who will not buy season tickets for this reason.
As regards the 1pm KO - that was the worst build up / atmosphere I have ever experienced so that's a NO NO from me.

Completely agree with that - most pubs don't even show the Super League games these days so I don't think it's too much to compete with.
