I think it's fair to say that Widnes played well and thoroughly deserved their win, whilst I have to admit that James Child had a decent game. Why Reynolds was dropped is absolutely baffling.

I think we need a top class coach , or at least one whos got some tactics. Every set leigh have is groundhog day 4-5 drives then a terrible kick ... thats if they dont knock it on

Difficult to blame the coach for that, we just don't have the class at the moment. It doesn't matter who the half backs are because they have very limited options.

What worries me most is that even if Mortimer does come over we have no strike second row or centres - in fact we only have one centre unless I'm missing something, Paterson needs to be in the second row where he can have more of an impact in attack

Let's see what the next couple of weeks bring, onwards and upwards and keep the faith (hopefully I'll believe that when I read it in the morning

Didn't see that Widnes had much class.What they did have in abundance was the desire to play and win

What we did have,especially in the first half was,poor defense,no composure and no proper leader to settle things down,and someone who can kick a ball.

Derek I've been saying it for a few weeks now, we are nailed on for the middle 8s, more than likely finishing bottom, it's not the end of the world though, a couple of new recruits on the way,Hock, Acton, and maybe Micky back, chuck in Higson, we will be OK and survive,Charlie knows.

Widnes, far too quick around the ruck and we were lucky to be only 20 behind at Half Time. How long did the team have on the pop after beating the Humbles ?

Defence like a dogs back leg and the reluctance to smash Rangi Chase was there for all to see.

That Pitch definitely gives Widnes the advantage though. We seem reluctant to tackle and Crook's knees were absolutely pouring with blood.

Ian i have succumbed to the fact we will be in the M8s some time ago. What is baffling tho, is like Genehunt says - too much tinkering. But yer reet,players coming back in and a couple o new uns, and we should be reet.

Which also pretty much is us when we win - let's hope we see it again when it matters

Drinkwater is crap most games....unless he has a fantastic kicking game, he is useless. Folk have slated Reynolds, but for some bizarre reason Josh get's away with it....

Agree totally, they wanted it and knew it would set down a marker.
For some reason a lot of our focus seems to be on The Catalan game, This was the match we needed to show up in and play well as it was against (what was) the worst team in SL, we massively underperformed from coaching team to players- worst showing for a very very long time.

Best team won. Our kicking game was dire as were our tackling and handling.

I guess that's an interpretation. Or is he being asked to do too much in defence and attack? Needs a good partner and Hampshire is not it.

May as well have had a set of traffic cones playing on our right edge for all the defending they did.

too much defence ha ha he only makes about 8 tackles a game and on attack he plays for 5 mins every 20 and that's only if we go down our left channel,not sure about Reynolds but at least he gets involved

I,m afraid ----very afraid. The win over Pies was enjoyable, but we are certs for the qualifiers. I can't see this lot of "journeyman" pros beating any SL opposition or even HKR, London, Toulouse and possibly even Fev. Don't think too many of squad would hang around for Championship???

I don't think Derek would hang around either , in his programme notes for the Wigan game , he stated he has no appetite for the Championship.
