I've got to be honest, this is awful. Why can't these two just shut the hell up and sit quietly in the background like all the other owners do. This is not the DB and MK show, we're supposed to be professional rugby clubs and these two morons are continually coming up with other ways to get themselves into the spotlight. If you ever go to rugby functions and people find out you're from Leigh, no one ever talks about the team, they just ask what our 'idiot owner' is going to come up with next. (This was asked to me just last week by another SL club owner).

Christ he's not the messiah, I only called him a moron because he sometimes behaves like one and this is one of those times. He needs to stop meddling, stop making the club look ridiculous and shut up for a while. He's invested his money not donated a kidney and that just makes him a normal human being like the rest of us. He's a good bloke but he also behaves like an idiot at times. Big deal, don't we all.
I don't know, nor am I interested in how much DB is worth but supposing the money he's invested is only 1% of his wealth, or even 10% - we could all give a small proportion of our wealth away, it's no big deal and it doesn't make him special - just a man who happens to be wealthy enough to buy a team.

Idiotic enough to become involved, throw a substantial amount of cash at it and take the club to Super League. Whatever next? Throw another substantial amount and take it to Wembley or Old Trafford?

I agree, it is idiocricy at its finest. He will never get that money back. He should never have got involved and we could have 'floated' back to our level. Brinkering between lower championship and league one.

Well I am well pleased with what Derek has done for the club I have supported for over 60 years.

Inherited wealth "just happens". Self-made cash is different. Leigh lad made good was only made good by gumption and hard graft over a fair few years. Yes, he has a fair amount of disposable income but he chose to throw a good bit of it the club's way and for that all Leigh supporters should be grateful.

Should he then choose to have a few harmless (with the possible exception of the boxing match) larks with a similar and like-minded matey, then why the fuss? Top flight RL is serious on field. That doesn't debar a little fun thereoff.

Good luck to them ( as long as the boxing doesn't begin early on Rinder).

I'm not sure what you're trying to say there but if you're talking about people getting involved in a dying club then I was there as a volunteer every week sitting in the same room as Alan and other volunteers, trying to help keep the club going.
