So it would seem mr brierley is back training with the boys, if it is the case and he wants to see out the rest of the year with us so be it! Let the lad play he's only going to strengthen us and give us more competition worst case

Personally, I hope he is back and everything has been sorted amicably. Whatever shortcomings he may have, (and doesn't everyone?) the lad has got some extraordinary talents. It would be a shame for those talents to go to waste - and it would be brilliant to have someone taking advantage of the good work our forwards are doing.

It seems the rumour was a peesh take, certainly last nights debate on facebook was heavily in favour of him not returning but the players and club would make that call and fans would support it.

I have said before ,I would welcome Ryan back like a shot,you can't afford to let a 30 tries a season player go to waste, I have enjoyed watching him and his tries for the past couple of seasons,and can only say Welcome back Ryan.

Things seem to have settled down a lot since Ryan was suspended.

Players are slowly coming back from injuries, moral seems much better. Results are good even if performances are patchy.

Don't see any way back for Ryan. He stated he wanted to leave the club and spouted a load of cryptic rubbish about why he wanted to go. Also changed his story 3 or 4 times before calling Neil Jukes a liar. Walked out on his club, his fans and his team mates in the middle of an injury crisis and used our troubles to try and extort more money from the club.

As talented as he is, we are now better off without him. He has said too much and acted too dishonestly to be welcomed back with open arms.

Squad disruption has been at an all time high this season. Bringing back the main cause of this just as things seem to be getting back to normal could be a disaster.

He has to go IMO.

Nozz, everybody deserves a second chance,alot of what happened was hear say and rumours anyway,Ryan is a young lad probably took some wrong advice, who can blame him for wanting to get the best deal he can.As for Squad Disruption ?I don't think Ryan was at fault with this , we have all heard again rumours about various players being told to stay away from the Club.Before we actually signed Gaz Hock plenty were against him coming, and the rest is history , the guy has been a revelation, it's a good job he has has a few second chances,again I thought it a great move to sign him.

Did Ryan 'go on strike' or 'refuse to train' NO, Derek suspended him because he handed in 'his notice', admittedly as if he worked at B & Q !! But I hope he's back in a Leigh shirt very soon.....

Its not about second chances, its about whether a coach and the players would want him back should he want to come back. If they did and he did then we as fans support our club. Would Ryan be able to say ''I was wrong, external people got into my head and I acted like a tool. Jukesy didn't lie, I or named person leaked the story to Sky, I or named person told the cameraman where we would be in the stadium to get that shot. I have let the club, the fans and my fellow players and coaches down badly, and for that I am extremely sorry and intend to make up for the disruption by giving my all to get this club into SL''

IMO it is only a statement similar to the above that would create the pathway for a return.

You don't actually believe he should have been allowed in the club during his 'notice', legal or not?? I am currently on 'Garden leave' 6 months of it, it has caveats like not to contact staff, customers, go into depots etc Its pretty standard.

I'm with mo on this one. What on earth was all the cr5p for the last few weeks. He managed to get a statement out quick enough to brand the club and Jukesy in particular a liar whether he wrote that statement himself or not.

Also someone said above he was suspended because he handed his notice in. He was suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into persistent leaks of confidential information.

Just because he is good and scores 30 tries a season does not give him the right to do what he wants and not expect any consequences or even walk straight back into the team. If I was Jukesy I would struggle massively accepting him back.

Back 'in the day' it would be called 'handing in a transfer request'.....pretty standard also. But Ryan's situation has extra baggage with "lies/being greedy etc" Plenty football players have behaved a damn sight worse than Brierley, too many to mention !

The Watcher has been informed that Brierley will be going to Huddersfield, possibly on a loan deal, for the rest of the season. Leigh may well get an amount of money for him after all, as the condition in his contract is somewhat unclear. Our club did look into paying the player the extra he asked for however salary cap & too much water under the bridge has lead to him departing.

Mo as you rightly say, whatever decision the Club makes I will support that decision.But in respect of everything else for me they are just rumours, Sky trawl the crowd every game looking for interesting folk at the game, as they did with Rowls and the other Leigh player's, I have already said I believe Jukesy in his version on what went on , and as for the players ,I'm not privy to their opinions on the Ryan Brierley subject.I would hope they want to see him back, as they also want Sam Barlow , and Rangi back as soon as poss.
Again Ryan is not the first to want to leave , he won't be the last , how many times have Murphy, and Millward left?

Funnily enough that's what I suggested would happen to a few people at the weekend , the Giants need a HB , they supposedly inquired , Leigh could challenge the ' clause ' tying Ryan up till the end of the season , or cut a deal with Huddersfield
