He is an unusual chairman in Super League in the sense that He can also see the bigger picture for the game in general. Mr McManus would in fact receive my vote to be next chairman of the RFL.

This bit caught my eye:

It would appear he still views these two organisations as mutually exclusive!!
I can't imagine Mr Barwick, in a previous role.....or indeed anyone in that sport, referring to [i"Football [uand[/u the Premier League"[/i!!

I remain to be convinced that there is enough 'vision' within the SDL to see the bigger picture!!

In fairness though Barwick was the chairman of the FA - there was a different chairman at the Premier League. Think there are certainly pro's and con's in the RFL and SLE being two separate organisations but having the same chairman.

The bit that caught my eye was -

He is referring to the proposed new league structure, that Mr Leneghan and others appear to now be against. You have to be concerned for our Sport if so many club chairmen/owners didn't appear to know what they were voting for.

I've seen the fax statement too. Hopefully other clubs will follow their lead and lenegan will retreat into the darkness.

There's democracy for you. As soon as it became obvious that they couldn't win the vote, the six took their bats and balls home!

It would have been proper democracy it the vote had gone ahead, the motion would have been carried by 8 votes to Nil with 6 abstentions.

The 6 clubs should be charged with bringing the game in to disrepute with points deductions at stake for me.

It looks like my ST money will be staying in my pocket for a little longer yet.

Let's be perfectly honest here. The game can not drive forward in its present state.

Where does this massive feeling of confidence in the administration of the RFL come from?

They are inept, they are economical with the truth, they are selective with their eyesite, they are sneaky, they are smug, basically they are bloody useless

But all of a sudden we all think they are capable of running the sport of RL no matter what structure is in place?

All because they have dangled a carrot in front of a few Championship Clubs owners? , a ' carrot ' that wasnt theirs to dangle

Now I dont know what plans Mr Lenegan and his fellow ' rebels ' have for the whole sport, but I do have more faith in them, than the current RFL management

And that's the problem in bold - no-one really knows what the collective are after.

The RFL have put out a paper that fans have now read and I'd say the vast majority see it as the RFL realising the game needs to change as its stale and shrinking.
The minority of 6 SL clubs have said nothing........ todays actions are frankly school playground stuff.

Its time now for the '6'clubs to do a [ucollective letter [/uor press release and state [uexactly[/u what they would like to see happen in the game so that all fans know what it is they are really after and what it is they are really disgruntled with.
At the minute everyone is second guessing.

I agree, however I'd suggest the 1 st thing they want is new management at the RFL, as I said, I personally have no confidence whatsoever in the current administration to make a success of whatever structure we end up with, I think Mr Lenegan probably feels the same
