Hopefully the takeover will be sorted out and the club moves into some exciting times.
Great team on the paddock, great coach and new owners who will be digging deep to fund the hopes and dreams of many.

Thanks JIC ,we are all doing our best in raising funds ,its never easy , but like like you say the LISA Reps are working hard ,anybody can help them ,just volunteer ,or come up with another moneyspinner.

Grow up, please. This isnt anything to do with LISA/Corporate Club/ Lottery/Half Time Draw etc who all contribute to our club - its about extra revenue streams needed to service ambition and keep OUR club moving forward.

AS superleigh lottery member, Lisa member and Forcast coupon entries,programmes purchaser, half time draw ticket, poker buy in my commitment is more then that as it is.
As is Frank B, The Carlois and many more of us.

What we need IMHO is new investment.

You did read the post before? New investment really means more income, the low hanging fruit is from the converted, conversion takes longer.
As Starbug once said, the money Leigh fans spent going to Toulouse would have come to tens of thousands the club could have used for the benefit of the club, 5000 fans travelling away over the season costs £150k plus in gate/travel/beer/food that money fills the gap we currently have.
People have a choice, if it means 400 folk dont travel away anymore because their money keeps the club going then I am sure they would make that call - we need to become very selfish and keeping our club alive and moving forward must be at the top for all fans - no matter what they can afford. Putting £6k into Batley comes a very distant second.

I think you will find the club have said the fans are their 18th man, would they be happy running out at Batley with no fans in attendance really?
The Toulouse thing I agree with, the cost of the trip and spending money spent would make a big difference and Im sure the club could excuse one game were few fans attend.

If it was a choice of having the option to have a team or not I am sure the choice is clearer.

So the club have said there wont be a club and they prefer us not to travel to York / Batley etc etc , when/if they do this Im sure people will respond, but people wont because you say so.

I have been saying the same thing for years Maurice, its OK us being one of the better supported clubs in this division but when other teams 'fans' do not reciprocate......
Im sure if Starbugs plans were put to other clubs re travelling fans and who pays we all know what the answer would be - and for what its worth I think its a cracking idea.

And when people stop travelling to away games, they realise there are other things to do on a Sunday and then back in the trap of missing the odd home game, which then becomes missing most home games ad infinitum. Very dangerous game to play.

As for Toulouse, it's my summer holiday. If there was some pledge from everyone not to go then the money would just be spent on going elsewhere on holiday rather than to Leigh RL. Likewise with any 'saved' money from not going to away games and then having nowt to do on a Sunday afternoon.

Let's be realistic about these things.

OR they look forward to the next home game with anticipation because they need their Rugby 'fix'.

It's obvious isn't it? £14 handed over to York on Sunday together with another £20 spent in fuel/travel does not assist our club in any way.

If we all instead, use the money saved to purchase a new home or away replica shirt or a donation to LISA then the club benefits.

However, It all boils down to what we enjoy doing and for the majority of us that is watching Leigh RL [ievery[/i week.

Also and perhaps more importantly, My misses will not be happy if I suggest cancelling the York weekender now and donating the money to Leigh RL

More fans , not more money from existing fans is what we require , if you push too much , you will lose the support you already have

Yes I did make the point about Toulouse , but that was more in reference to some that were happy to spend a fortune in France but then complained of the price of a similar beer at half the price at the LSV

Also there are possibly some that might miss attending matches in England to attend the one match in France as the cost to do Toulouse is similar to go to all the other away games we have in a whole season

pfft, one of the best things about our club is our away following.

Thats unfair Lynda a final isn't played at a teams home venue, it's all about personal choice anyway Maurice was just making a point to be fair as was Steve a couple of posts ago, it's all about interpretations (sp) and perceptions anyway.
And for Matt Im sure if 200 fans donated 30 pounds this week to the club they would be very grateful indeed.

However if the club officailly said this week if all fans who were going to York, would they mind giving the club their gate money and travel coast etc as the club was in danger of folding 99 per cent of us would.

OR Maurice if all attending York this week use the LISA coaches, that would be putting money into the club and you get something in return. A chance to watch your team in action, you then pay a pound for the raffle on the all goes into LISA funds and have a go on the forcast comp on the coach, get my drift all proceeds going to LISA = 100 % money for the club.

In my honest opinion we lose track of goals that we all want to achieve. I'm certain we all want Leigh to be successful and all have our own fund raising ideas but for me there is too much apathy and if I'm honest back biting. Too often I read on here people sniping at Lynda, Maurice, Freddie etc. Why don't we unite and support one another. Work together to help the club. I've raised several thousands of pounds through supporting the club in the last year and that was only possible by working together.

The obvious caution is getting people to support ideas. Last year as you know I drove the sponsored walk idea yet only 50 fans out of an average 1800 crowd took part. Alls we needed was 100 people to ask 100 people for £1 each and we had £10k. We achieved just over £6k.

It's time to unite put to one side your opinions and or agendas and support the club as a unified group of supporters. Life is too short to bitch and moan everyday.
