heres hoping a quick recovery to Tommy he suffered a pretty nasty facial injuty last night and apparently underwent emergency surgery last night at whiston (?) hospital

hope to see him back soon! was it his ear? or a head gash?

Whiston is a good specialist hospital for plastic surgery. Had my operation there when i damaged my fingers last year

He ripped half his ear off, and had a very nasty gash on his lip.

The medics refused too treat him on scene as they were that bad they needed emergency plastic surgery.

he's officially HARDCORE ! he carried on , even though we were pants he put his body on the line and for me that deserves a place in the squad

Listening to Radio Manchester on my way home, the commentators were discussing the large number of head injuries to Leigh players. They wondered if it was purely coincidental and thought it might be the subject of an RFL inquiry.

Not sure how many there were in total, but one happened to a player wearing a skull cap.

Myself and several others where thinking the same thing after the match , never seen
so many head injuries to players before like that in the same match

Goulden, Taylor, Maden and Mitchell all suffered head wounds.

When i heard of Tommy 's injury and saw the others from last night i text my friend and said maybe the rfl need to look at their tackling

Oh and don't forget the three head injuries we had as well. Come on now, it was hard, but never ever got out of hand.

Goulden's head injury came in a double tackle on a Batley player. It was a heck of a tackle, but it looked like Tommy might have collided with a team mate. I did notice the high number of head injuries - on =#FF0000both sides.

It doesn't take much for a witch hunt to start. If there was something wrong with the tackling why wasn't it commented on last night? You can't suddenly do a bandage count and surmise it was Batley''s tackling technique that caused the injuries.

No it didn't, it was done by the head of a Batley player who came away with a bruise to his forehead. Goulden passed the ball and the Batley player ran straight into him - now how his forehead hit Gouldens ear area without their bodies colliding is a mystery



I watched it and replayed it frame by frame.

Think it was just Trevor & Jack making a observation that Leigh had copped a few head injurys.
When they asked IM he just more or less shrugged it off as one of those things on a Rugby field.
