| Well, apart from our form this season (which has been poor at times to say the least) nothing else has really gone for us since moving to the LSV. A lot of things have been swept under the carpet by the LSV or been left to "suck it and see" Referees have been poor, attendances have not been attracted due to lack of marketing and generally we have had our backs against the wall all this year. Anything that could go wrong has gone wrong for us this year. Maybe a rethink on the planning for next season is required ASAP both with the Leigh Centurions and LSV committee.
I can only see relegation as I think even with a win against Haven the other results will go against us. In the last few weeks hardly any results have helped our plight.
Would like to ask if there are any positives from being in Championship 1?
Personally, I can only think of negatives!

| We made our bed and we now lie in it, only an expanded Championship and Millward being allowed to run the complete show will save us from the gross incompetence that engulfs the club.

| Im the same results from other games have not gone our way at all! And lke you say even IF we beat haven I think other results will again go against us! I fear the worst!
BUT... if we did and we still have/had all these so called players we've got/getting and we won the NRC plus got promoted (long shot I know) does that give us a tick in the box??

Visiting grounds we've not been to in many years.
Playing in what I hope will be a more 'honest' division.
No flamin' "expansion" clubs.
And, dare I say it, hopefully a bit of success!

| Lets be positive ..............If we go down then its been warranted but its also a new beginning.
Ian Millward is returning and the new signings of Robbie Paul , Ricky Bibey ,plus the re-signings of some of our incumbant squad. I `m actually looking forward to next season already....... being in Championship 1 is not the end of the world, just look who have ended up being this years League Leaders in the Championship........

Agree with all the above.
I've heard every excuse possible, bad management on & off the field relegates clubs.
If relegation is the kick up the backside this complacent underachieving club needs then I'd be happy to see us go down in return for us becoming a real family / community RL club again that is a shoe in for any promotion (be it by on field or off field activitys).
I think we can turn relegation into a positive if the club wakes up to its huge potential.
Next season (with planning & work starting from 5pm next sunday - no winter breaks allowed) MUST see us become a community club with a range of ticketing packages available to suit every single budget (ala Keighley and its Cougar mania that stormed the lower leagues like a breath of fresh air).
We have a chance to be able to be 'the big club' in the small league (as arrogant as that sounds- but we will be just that) and should win more than we lose, people will support a winning team if the price is right or they think its value for money, get people in watching us win and create a family area, a singing area, a pre match experience, and relegation will be looked back in years to come as the best thing that ever happened to this club.

| Maybe it is premature but I waqs thinking of pricing for next year IF we are in Champ 1. Surely they must drop the prices significantly to say a tenner for adults? 14 quid to watch the quality of opposition we will be playing is far too much in my opinion - what do Champ 1 clubs genberally charge?
I was also wondering what the point of LISA would be next year - if the cap is so low, the club should be paying its own wages...should it go towards marketing "come and watch Leigh in the lowest tier of professional RL". or save the money until the following year when hopefully we are playing back in the Champ?

No ones going to pay £16 to watch a cricket score every week ,
So a tenner it has to be then

| What should happen next season, regardless of what League we are in is bums on seats. Its the old cliché I know, but the more times that turnstyle clicks the more money the club has too spend.
Its ok talking about a community club, but said community should back the club first.
Next season in Champ 1 we WILL be the team to beat end of. Let's follow the club in our hordes, home and away, and show the RFL why we deserve a Franchise.
Please please do not desert the club next season because we are in champ 1. Its the club we are following and supporting, that should be our priority, not because what league we are in.

| Does the club not have enough hardcore fans? We know the club are terrible when it comes too marketing and P.R. Perhaps this new group that has been formed will help that?
The hardcore need too get bigger and support the team and give them confidence.

| But as supporters we should support our club through thick and thin!
We have the opportunity too break attendance records in this League now. It would show RL up for the farce it really is. We all know we will have better home attendances than 9 out of the 11 Championship clubs already!!
Championship 1 Club we may become, but the best supported club in that division we will certainly be!

| All the fans posting on here are already committed to the club. What is needed is an imaginative scheme to attract new or lapsed fans. just by shouting at them to back the club, show the faith etc simply isn't good enough.
Imagination, pulling in kids and families, making it a fun day overall is the way to go. If this is done successfully it could be the making of your club.

| Quote ="pastybarm"Lets look at Man City and their attendences. They went down to the old division three a couple of years ago and still 30000+ went to Maine Road every home game getting behind the lads. So come on, yes we [size=150COULD[/size be in Champ 1 next season but lets get down to the LSV regardless who we play and get behind Basil and the boys.
COME ONNNNNNN YOUUUUUUU LEIGHHHHHHHHHH
Keep the faith
'"
So City fans knew they could not get back into the premiership for at least 5 years if ever at all??
A similar drop off in fans would kill us anyway, LSV needs SL to be viable let alone C1.
Fans who walk away will not find their RL elsewhere they will simply become dormant fans, those dormant fans we should have been targeting last year but we played the field of dreams card instead, after antagonising the RFL first.
Let Millward become chief exec/coach, let him appoint his own staff and lets clear out the clueless deadwood who are stuck in the 80's.
If we do go down I will buy my ST if we have a clearout, just wont go to many games as my leisure time is more valuable than C1 RL

| lets open the east stand as the family stand so we have spectators opposite each other to get more atmosphere ( no swearing in this stand ). Get more children in they are the future adult supporters
Get the concources (SPL) with paintings and sports shirts and make LSV home.
Get lobby on with better priced food and beer (like Batley and gateshaed).
Lets get LSV our home and our fortress so we have a real home advantage and WIN.

| Let me ask this. How many clubs in C1 have a fan base like ours? Of the teams or team that will be promoted to The Champ, how many will take the numbers away like we do. The loss of Leigh to the Champ is quite a considerable one. I'm sure Gateshead and Toulouse's fan base will not increase much, unless the RFL give them a help with that aswell. Mr Chairman knows something that I think the club knows aswell. Hence the lack of panic over signing halfbacks. Hense the IM signing. If we do go down I hope IM does not have a clause letting him go to a SL or Champ club when he has lifted us back to a decent team again. One more thing why are we sighning players on probably Champ contracts if there is a real chance we are going to be relegated. Thats madness is it not. I dont know why but I am already looking forward to next season in C1 or the Champ. Oh one more thing, IM should have a clear out of the people he does not want.

| Was just thinking last night about the fanbases of Batley, Gateshead, Toulouse, Dewbury, Sheffield and how we will be missed at least from a potential attendance point of view.
Widnes must be looking forward to all those massive Yorkshire/French and Geordie derbies!

| There is a possibility that someone could get relegated on 32 points - actually that would have to be us, as all three teams would have to have won on Sunday. Will it enhance the Championship to relegate a team on that number of points - probably only 11 points behind the runners-up?
