Thanks for your communication – we appreciate that our supporters will be eagerly awaiting the date/time for the fixture, this has taken longer than we anticipated but we are very close now and I am sure that we will release details tomorrow!


Rest assured that Annette, Richie, the LSV team and myself are fully prepared internally to promote ticket news and Corporate packages as soon as the button is pressed!!


At the same time with the Bank Holiday weekend fast approaching we will need all the support we can muster to promote the game and to make sure that we have done everything possible to maximise attendance and to ensure that the whole is event is a memorable one for our supporters and the local community – and you know that I never miss an opportunity to ask everyone to tell their buddies what they may miss.


Thanks for your offer of support and assistance through Leigh Life and the message boards, it is very much appreciated and we will need a big team effort on this one that’s for sure!

Think we all realise that in a bizarre way a small, skint club like Leigh is waiting for the sports governing body to pull it's thumb from it's bum so we can get cracking.

I've never been an RFL basher but recently they have excelled in cocking up the simplest of things.

I hope a date will be sorted soon as all fans are getting fed up now.

And of course no tickets can be sold, advertising arranged, corporate boxes sold etc until the blooimn' date's sorted.

Come on RFL get it sorted....now!!

And I want to know when I can go to Chatteau Mettallica

It's a complete and utter shamble from the RFL, a week later and most of the football will have finished.

Lads at work seem to be convinced they'll be playing at LSV on Saturday afternoon, us Friday night, the other two on Sunday (but not at LSV

).

Consecutive days at the LSV would mean that the BBC could just use one lot of equipment/staff. But I get the very strong impression that they don't want to cover our game. Probably only covered the '71 Final, because there was nobody else left in the competition to televise?



Of course, should there be a mega-upset in our game, then SKY would have had the scoop - that's if they want to cover it.

Ours appears to be the only game that could be played any day - unless the 'Beeb' get Wigan's game switched to LSV, then suddenly we are restricted as to when we can play. Might as well mess up all four ties, eh?

Of course they don't want to cover our game Alan. We are only Little old Leigh, ha. If there was another all SL tie that they deemed attractive, that was not in France, we would not be hanging on this long for confirmation. It is obvious that Leigh on the Fri, Wigan on the Sat, Catalan and Hudds on the Sun had been drawn up quickly. It was published in several publications. They did not all get this out of thin air. The pie eyters are now diggin their heels in about playing at Wigan on the Fri and the beeb want them on the Sat. The BBC could have simply changed their Sat game to us, but we are not worthy. Meanwhile, we all have to wait around for Wiggin. Do you think they'd be holding up the announcements or indeed considering a change to the original fixture list put out, if Leigh had concerns about it?

This is now a joke which has to be sorted out today - I have booked half day off next Friday to make the KO and will be fuming with whoever is in charge of this farce if Leighs fixture is to be moved to make way for the Pies!!!!

In a way I wish it was possible for a double header Sat, Pies v Saints and us v Leeds on Saturday evening, it wouldnt be posssible though.

Well it's turning into a farce now, all the clubs are waiting for the dates so they can market this game whilst the BBC and Wigan take their time in thrashing it out.

Wigan were well aware that this situation could arise and should have made contingency plans for it - and so were the BBC......and what were the RFL thinking in playing this round on the weekend of the final day of the football season anyway?

It's a total disgrace.

Has anyone thought that they may be seriously considering postponing these ties till a later date. Just a thought.

A week later wouldnt be a problem so why dont they just announce this so that all fans can organise things. The longer this goes on the more RL will be regarded as a joke.

I doubt it TV slots are booked.

The whole competition held to ransom due to the actions of one man no longer connected to the sport......and all because the planners of our game treat our oldest, and most famous competition as an afterthought to all things SDL!!!

WE will be playing either SAT OR FRIDAY night it would seem. I dont think we are on the TV THOUGH

How does that work if all 4 matches are due to be televised??.......and what about our 'cut' of the TV money??

Best it's not on TV as more people will come and watch the game...

It may not be the glamour tie but I can't see why sky wouldn't want to show it if on a Friday, ok it maybe a walk over (for us

) but Fev did the Championship proud against SL teams, why should we be any different? Everyone loves an underdog, and Leeds are world champs.

But would we then miss out on the TV money? Don't know how much it is but I doubt we'd get enough extra's on to replace it.
